Just curious about what the silver material is on the outside of this version. They appear different from the other ubersonics. I assume they fit the same?

Thanks for your help.

ArliHawk,

We have not seen the shoe in person yet (we are still waiting for our stock - hopefully in about a week) so we can not comment on the fit or material yet.

Thanks,
Brittany, TW

What about now? Does the silver material breathe like Primeknit?

The Big Kahuna,

The shoes aren't expected in until April 30th. We will have a better idea towards the end of next week.

Thanks,

@ArliHawk ,

I just had someone in our Atlanta warehouse try on both shoes. Here were his notes, "Material is quite different between the two, the LTD with no mesh was noticeably less flexible. I tried on one on each foot and it was hard to tell any difference, maybe the non LTD version felt more snug but could have had more to do with how tight the laces were on one vs the other, hardly noticeable. Biggest difference just being the more resistance to flexibility around the toe box on the LTD compared to standard."

Thanks,
Sean, TW

I just got a pair day before yesterday and have played in them twice. Here’s my take on the shoe:

On the positive side they look great. Everybody at the club was commenting on the shoe and they look like there something by Prada. Very cool looking shoe.

On the negative side I must say that the upper feels like it’s made out of some kind of nylon / sponge highbred material. It doesn’t feel like it is quite as stable or ventilated as the normal mesh version. Not quite as flexible either as mentioned in the previous review. In addition, this silver nylon material seems to be bonded onto the toe so that could be a problem long-term with durability there.

The biggest issue I had with the shoe however was with the leases. Adidas in their wisdom decided to put steel tips on the laces apparently to make them look extra cool. The problem is it’s like time ball bearings to the end of the lease is so easy run they actually untied and sells. You can double knot these laces so they don’t come untied but then you have these steel tips beating on your feet while you were playing which is rather distracting. I ended up thinking more about my feet in my shoes than I was about my game while I was playing. I think if Adidas was smart they would include eight pair of traditional laces with the shoes in case someone actually wants to wear them on the court rather than – what I think they were really designed for – off the court.

In short, a great looking shoe for off the court but I think you’d be better served with the regular mesh version on the court.
