Important match vs UGA today at home vs Alabama.
Yes. UGA is on a 5 match losing streaking. Alabama's had a little bit of an up and down season to date but has a winning record going into their conference slate of matches and is currently ranked 21. UGA needs this one.

It is a good time to retire so there can be a reset next year. The current freshmen would be fine players for Auburn, Vandy or Arkansas but they are not DAWG level.
Results continue to show that Dawgie Dawg gave up way too early on the current freshmen.
Niels Ratiu yesterday beat the number 1 world junior in 2022. Every college team in the nation would love to have Niels on their team.
Cyrus Mahjoob continues to be a very solid number 5 as a freshman.
Dawgie Dawg, stop badmouthing this group of freshmen.

Now that I’m back in the USA after a month. I need my college tennis fix. Considering driving down to watch SC at UGA on Friday, to watch something sandwiched between the two Clemson matches this weekend on Thursday and Saturday.

Should be a close one. GA is hard to beat at home. After a rough start, GA is playing better. Should be a big crowd with Manny’s retirement honored on Friday.

Georgia freshman are really playing well. Niels Ratiu is just pounding the ball. He is tough to beat at 3. Cyrus Mahjoob is very smart and crafty. Very solid number 5 as a freshman.

Great great match last night in Athens. The doubles point took nearly an hour which the Dawgs snuck out.

the Gamecocks played without Hoole. Five of the six singles matches went to 3 sets. The real difference maker was Story rallying from 6-2 4-1 down at #2 vs Colby to come back and win. Colby looked to be in complete control, so Story turning it around was an unexpected twist.

SC stole all 3 on the stadium courts in three sets to make it 3-2 SC. UGA needed courts 4 and 5. All the crowd converged on those side by courts and you could feel the momentum shifting toward the Dawgs with the crowd egging them on.

Perez Peña finished off Sarr at 4 and seconds later, Mahjoob had a match point as well to make for a back-to-back clinch chance, but Mahjoob double faulted at 40-30. Then at 40-40 Da Silva hit a great passing shot to get the break. From 2-5 down in the 3rd set, Da Silva was pure clutch. He was hitting the corners and dictating with simple power combination shots with almost no errors. He ripped off 5 straight games to spoil Diaz’s retirement party and give the gamecocks their first win in Athens since 1989.

Da Silva was very courageous. Excellent college tennis match. Perez Pena showed veteran poise in the match against the Younger Sarr. Paulsell vs. Toby Samuel was really super high quality in the 2nd set. Conor Thomson really looks like he is in a tremendous amount of pain. Heavy long knee brace and very strong support crutches. Hope that Thomson can recover 100%.

Manny Diaz has to be one of the best player developers ever. To take the likes of Paulsell and Colby and elevate them to elite status in a conference like the SEC is special. He will be missed by all of college tennis.
Manny is a class act. Manny has always done things the correct and honest way. A true loss for all of college tennis.

Paulsell dominated today against the Florida number 1. The young man is a hard worker. Very happy to see him succeed.

I have to give a ton of credit today to all of the young players for Florida. Ganesan has missed a few matches but he stepped up huge today. Aidan Kim beat a much more experienced player today. Tanapatt Nirundorn is greatly improved from last year. Congrats to the very young Gators on a quality road win today.

The SEC tournament showing was embarrassing. The players not competing for Manny's last one was bad to witness. Its Arkansas...

Quinn and Michelson going pro in the last year have more to do with their current season. Your fair weather fanboy disappointment is expected.

Were you in Baton Rouge to watch the match? There was no video for the match. Niels was down 4-0 and 5-2 in the 2nd set and fought back. The Arkansas player at 6 served for the match and Freddy fought back. The team had many extra matches scheduled this year so they could finish above .500. A super tough non conference schedule was put together when it was thought that the team would have Quinn, Michelsen and Ignacio Buse.
The Dawgs had an intense 4 plus hour match on Sunday and then Cyrus and Freddy had to play a 2nd match at night.
I think that the Dawgs were out of gas yesterday. This team has competed very hard all year.
