The Swedish kid coming in is good. He will be top 15 ITA immediately.

Not sure I would expect the Swedish kid to be great right away.

Erik Grevelius, 11.94 UTR. I agree I think she will be very good. Her UTR already ranks her as a top 10 female ITA player. She should be able to play top 2/3 on the ladies team.
Do the men have anyone good coming in?
Georgia has a lot of young freshmen/soph who can play 3-6. There are 4 guys with UTRs 13.24-13.29. Often high ranked world jr ITF players have overrated UTRs compared to collegians. Trent Bryde was a former world jr ITF #8, struggled to win at 3, and was ranked as high s 14.08 in Sept last year-has dropped .8 since. Bryde won 2 MD matches at a $15K this week but wins were vs two UTR 12.9s. He lost to Rice's #1 in the quarters. Will be interesting to see who Manny will sacrifice at 1 and 2 to have a chance to win the bottom lines. Can't see how GA will do well in SEC unless they stack from day 1 in January.saw dogs had a recruit make the french open, should help for another first or second round NCAA finish
Big DAWGS eating big!! Little Tar Heels big time on the ropes
I guess you thought Manny forgot everything he knew about how to coach. I hope you feel pretty darn dumb now! When are the Georgia faithful going to come to grips with it's time for Manny to hang it up. I don't know how you could argue that. He has had a wonderful career but the last few years have been hit with a drug scandal, players leaving the program in the middle of the season, lack luster results and a lot of head scratching. If Georgia fans are honest with themselves they know it's time for new leadership.
fall 2023 is 18 months away. Alex is a high school junior. Way too early to think about the future for this young man. Congratulations to Alex for a great performance. Alex Michelsen and Ethan Quinn and many other great players will be in San Diego next week.Is Alex Michelsen still committed to Georgia in 2023 ? He's taking names right now at an ITF in Bakersfield, smoked Aragone 61, 60 after bearing UT alum Colin Markes in three sets.
Ethan Quinn had an incredible tourney in Bakersfield.Good win at Tennessee today! Ethan Quinn also did very well in SD this weekend.
Grevelius is transferring to South Florida this summer. The Swedish kid coming in is good. He will be top 15 ITA immediately.

that one sure did not work out ...the way that Dawgie Dawg projectedThe Swedish kid coming in is good. He will be top 15 ITA immediately.
UGA has also signed Ignacio Buse. As of last Monday 4/18, Buse was 10 in ITF junior rankings, Michelsen was 36 in ITF junior rankings and Ethan Quinn was #49. Buse is class of 2022 but the parsa bombs tweet said that he was joining UGA in the fall of 2023.I love UGA but past couple years been disappointing..Trent Bryde looks like an nfl fullback, weight too much muscle and played horrible..They need Quinn and Michelsen to be in lineup down the road..
iirc Buse is from South America where graduation happens in December instead of June. So he could join the team for the next spring runHe is for Fall 2023, tennis recruiting went by age rather than graduation year. Buse will be a superstar there.
He is from Bradenton, and his TRN page says grad class of 2022 but not showing up until fall of 2023.iirc Buse is from South America where graduation happens in December instead of June. So he could join the team for the next spring run
You are probably right but on the UTR website, the Peruvian flag appears alongside his name. And he’s played a South American Grade B1 ITF which is only open to South American nationals. So maybe he has dual citizenship. Don’t know about his particular situation but do know the South American academic year runs Jan-Dec.He is from Bradenton, and his TRN page says grad class of 2022 but not showing up until fall of 2023.

Btw his UTR is 13.1 which is really impressive for a junior. Can see him form a great nucleus with Michelsen and Quinn in the coming years

Agree. He truly has the style of game to bypass college. I’d venture he’s the most dominant junior when he’s on. Scary good!Georgia better pray AM stops doing all this dominating lately, or they will never see him in Fall of 23. Having said that he should graduate HS early and try to come in early. Kid will be almost an instant #1
Funny. Was about to compare him to Brooksby too but thought I’d be laughed at!yup, watched him since he was 9/10, he is J. Brooksby with a serve. 6 foot 5 helps too .
Alex Michelsen looked incredible at the easter bowl. For a high school junior, his drop shots are unbelievable. Interested to see how he does at the French Open Juniors.Georgia better pray AM stops doing all this dominating lately, or they will never see him in Fall of 23. Huge congrats to Quinn and Henning. If Quinn has strong results on the Tour this fall and into spring, I don’t see him sticking around. He might just do what Nakashima didEthan Quinn has to be the front runner for this years NCAA’s. After winning ITA All American Championships, and having hands down one of the best summers for a incoming college player. Georgia is in good hands.
spring of 22 recruit or fall of 23 recruit? If Texas gets the recruit they are hoping for, he might have some competition.
I think he's talking about Learner, so fall 2023. TX flew out to watch him train not too long agospring of 22 recruit or fall of 23 recruit?
I'm actually talking about the younger brother of one of the guys on the team, I know they want him but he might skip college and go pro instead.I think he's talking about Learner, so fall 2023. TX flew out to watch him train not too long ago
Ah ok. You must be talking about Bailly? Pierre-Yves has been great. Don't know much about the younger brotherI'm actually talking about the younger brother of one of the guys on the team, I know they want him but he might skip college and go pro instead.
Yeah, he lost the finals of the US Open juniors to LandaluceAh ok. You must be talking about Bailly? Pierre-Yves has been great. Don't know much about the younger brother
The younger Bailly was interviewed by ZooTennis and said he enjoyed his visit to Texas before the US Open and could picture himself on the roster if he decides to not go pro. My take is he has a pretty good college style game…very solid, makes balls, doesn’t break down and gives it his all. I would take Learner over him and frankly he would give Quinn more competition than Bailly would, having beaten him at Kalamazoo recently. Of course it would be fantastic if they could land both. I also think the way Basavareddy is playing he could be competitive against QuinnYeah, he lost the finals of the US Open juniors to Landaluce
Don’t get me wrong. I like Bailly. But he’s a solid baseliner and I just have difficulty seeing him challenge the current version of Quinn. Tien on the other hand presented lefty problems for Quinn at Kalamazoo playing the angles very well. He’s home schooled so could potentially be available for Spring 23. But he’s still quite young (turns 17 in December). As for Basavareddy, my comment was based on how he played Montes and Tracy but I admit I could be over reaching here!the comment that started this discussion....was that Ethan Quinn had to be the front runner for this year's NCAA's.
From Atatu's comment....I assume that Gilles Arnaud Bailly could be joining the Texas team in Spring 2023.
Sureshot , you are commenting about Learner Tien. Will he be starting his college career (if he goes that route) in Jan 2023 or fall 2023.
Do not sell Gilles Bailly short. He is ranked #2 right now in ITF. In addition to losing in the US Open Junior final, Bailly also lost in the final of the french Open.
When I look at common opponents for Quinn and Bailly, Bailly beat Dino Prizmic of Croatia 2 and 3 to win J1 Klosters. In the 3rd round of JA Milan, Dino Prizmic defeated Quinn 6-4,6-0.
Also, Basavaredy struggled in the qualies to beat Teodor Giusca of Georgia. Basavareddy would need a very slow clay court to be competitive against Quinn.
