Ugh, we really are going to be left with just Djokovic on tour, right?

Djokovic is at his best for entertainment value when he’s being pushed by inspired opponents tbh. When he’s just crushing mugs and overmatched opponents, OK, I can agree that isn’t the best for entertainment value. However he isn’t Ultron anymore. Watching him grapple with his old age and rising young guns will actually be pretty exciting.

How could you watch the Alcaraz Madrid match this year and think that’s going to be a boring matchup?

I have probably watched 1-2 sets of Djokovic tennis since he lost to Stan in the 2015 RG final.

Seriously. That includes Major finals, etc. Just not entertaining to me.

That's how many of us feel about Nadal, ya know. I respect the guy, I love watching him in interviews and outside of tennis courts, but his tennis bores me to death. I only watch the match points when he loses. (and his 30 defeats vs Djokovic).

I wasn't a big Federer fan but I admit he has one of the most enjoyable tennis. I could never call him boring even in matches I was rooting against him

I'd just as soon have both of them retire so tennis can move on to be honest. It's stale.

I think the implication is that I'd like to watch more matches not involving him.
By my calculations, there were about 2500 main tour matches played in 2021. Djokovic played 62 matches last season, so only about 2.5% of main tour matches involved him

You already have literally thousands of Djokovic-free matches to choose from. And that's not including qualifiers and Challenger matches, which are available for free from the ATP website.

Friend, is your contention that all tour-level matches are created equal?

You mean him predictably winning every time they take a 2-0 lead in sets?

Except Alcatraz none of them have the cajones to defeat him in a slam, to close out a match.

Medvedev doesn't count anymore, he's washed up...

Then what the heck is this thread about? You're not even watching him, so he is practically non-existent in your tennis viewing experience for the past several years.

I feel like OP and I do end up watching a bit of Djokovic playing. For example I've watched the final of Belgrade for the last 2 years.

Bottom line for me is that I don't enjoy watching Djokovic play. He just brings a really negative vibe to the court, just a person without any joy. He's either in a foul mood or about to be in a foul mood. His negativity is contagious and just puts me in a bad mood when I watch his matches... even when he loses.

Bullshiet. If he plays Alcaraz or Kyrgios, no sheet it’s going to be exciting. Those guys are exciting, have flair,

Djokovic is about as boring as watching paint dry.

What are you talking about? He's present late in almost every tournament. He sucks up quite a few of the most consequential matches. He also plays in many of the most widely broadcasted matches (think USO nighttime, etc.).

It's been a long time; the Big 3 need to go. Even Nadal, as much as I like him.

They will, eventually,
but just because Federer has officially retired does not at all mean that Nadal and Djokovic have to do so immediately; not only silly but also illogical.
They have two or three years left at the most and they can still win something important.
:D
