Soo...I don't really know when I will force myself to review to you guys the Yonex Poly Tour rev on my yt channel which was requested months ago (sorry!).
So decided that I will do it the oldchool way here :)

YONEX POLY TOUR REV review!

so I tried this string in Percept 97H, Vcore 98 and in hybrids (with PTP in 100D and Vcore 98 305)

what can I say? I will start that this is not my favourite Yonex string. From Yonex I would probably pick PTP. Rev is stiffer than the ptp. Quite similar in stiffness to poly tour strike. Maybe a tad stiffer than Confidential. I think Yonex was aiming to steal some RPM blast users over to their camp but imo those strings are not even close. Totally different vibes. RPM is a bit faster in response while rev is a bit more dead and "plasticy". This dead feeling is giving you slightly more control and less power but to be honest I didnt experience that much more spin to really pick it over the Poly Tour Pro.

On a positive side I think this string for a shaped profile is very consistent in response. It's quite easy to learn the string and predict the launch and the amount of spin it can give back. However I wish the values were a bit bigger (in power and spin). Is this a good string? Ye, of course. I think I liked it even more with ptp hybrid which gave me slightly more spin and pocketing sensation. HOWEVER taking into consideration that those are not the cheapest strings on the market then I would honestly look somewhere else (or just stick to PTP which is softer, has similar control and similar spin with IMO better touch and feel). If you want more spin then Confidential and Lynx Tour are a bit better (and slightly cheaper I think?)

oh - btw! I really dig the mint color of this string! looks AMAZING in percept line.

final score: 5.8/10

see you around! :)
Interesting

I playtested all of the below on Percept 100D:
1. Solinco Confidential 1.20mm at 50lbs: Nice bite, good punches. Groundstrokes I have to intentionally hit longer than usual, otherwise my shots fall shot and I get punished for that.

2. Tecnifibre Black Code 1.24mm at 50lbs:
Right balance between power and control. I can do good enough groundstrokes, enough pace, enough spin, enough punch. Everything I love. And it's my primary choice when my health is normal.

3. Yonex Poly Tour Rev 1.20mm at 50lbs:
Significant amount of free power compared to Black Code and Confidential, I don't really trust myself at the net with this setup as anything involving punches and touches ends up being floatier than expected. However, at one point I was quite burnt out from work but just trying to maintain playing tennis - for me PTR helped me thru such a period as the free power played to my advantage.

4. Toroline Snapper 1.23mm at 53/50 lbs:
It's very similar to PTR and if you intentionally put the purple PTR beside the snapper you probably would struggle telling them apart. The same happens when you play with both setups on the same day. I would say Snapper is a little bit more powerful and bouncy whereas PTR is a bit boardier.

5. HEAD Lynx Tour 1.20mm at 50 lbs:
Maybe it's the gauge. This one I really struggled to hit anything with confidence. It has more spin than PTR and Black Code for sure but the volleys are worse. No go for me with the 1.20mm and no interest to try the 1.25mm as I understand this string weighs more than other strings of the same thickness.

Waiting to do a direct comparison between Black Code vs Mayami Hepta Power, both to be conducted on the Percept 100D.

I tried 1.25 rev. Maybe there is quite a jump in performance.

I've been using 1.20mm Rev while recovering from TE, because it's relatively soft compared to other control strings and hasn't bothered my arm. It does feel stiff just after stringing, but the tension drops overnight. I tried it a couple of times in a full bed, but it's not that interesting tbh - decent, but not great control, no grab, and sometimes too much power. However it's been a life saver in a hybrid with Pro Line Evolution (slick soft control poly), with good controllable power, spin, and zero arm issues.

Toroline toro toro review summary:
-Good for flathitters
-medium stiffness (something between razor code and razor soft and poly tour pro)
- you feel very nice pocketing but the release is quite fast
-forgiving
-a bit too launchy when you try to play a more loopy shot with more spin (not a spin string , more like an improved yonex poly tour rev)
-string suits tighter patterns quite well

Cons:
Would prefer more spin potential or a bit more „crunchy feel with spin/grab”.

Rating: 7.0

How would you compare it to Tecnifibre Black Code? Since you mentioned Solinco Confidential in your video as well.

Toro toro more power but also more linear response. Toro Toro Pockets more. Black code more spin and longer dwell time. Control goes to black code but at faster strokes and counter attacks toro toro seems to be better as its more forgiving and has a very nice linear ball trajectory while with the black code with the faster strokes I was hitting sometimes too high and out.

For the lazy and cost conscious, Black Knight has been incredible for me. After an initial 30 mins of hitting, the strings play consistently for many weeks and I have trouble breaking them. I even left a set in an old Pure Aero and left it in a hot garage for months, and it played exactly the same as when I initially abandoned it.

another string review!
Toroline K-Pop
mix between Solinco Tour Bite and Yonex Poly Tour Pro. Quite similar in feel and performance to Weiss Cannon Ultra Cable (but better pocketing and comfort out of the box and especially the stringbed is more consistent probably thanks to 6-sided crosses)
It's a highlighted string with a great story and has a top 300 atp endorsement (Karue Sell) so I can't really say anything bad about it. Tension maintanance should be much better but it's kinda similar to Solinco Tour Bite. Both get boost in power over time. Tour Bite offers more spin and control but then the launch gets a bit too big for me probably. K-Pop over time becomes too powerful or not enough spin to keep the ball in the court. But ye - it's definitely softer than the tour bite (more comfort). Always something :)
pricing is nice. I wonder how Europe will take this offering - it's quite unique and EVEN Solinco kinda struggles in Europe (at least in my country where academies and coaches are locked with the contracts and players usually follow the coaches and that's it haha). I appreciate that it offers more spin than PTP. I appreciate that it's more comfortable than Tour Bite and I appreciate that it's more consistent than Ultra Cable. However the overall performance might be slightly too hot for my needs. Hmmmm hard to say. We will see!

KPRO is the better one in my opinion.

interesting, more control? better tension stability? cost - less comfortable? Sounds like getting even closer to Tour Bite hm?
K-pop got a little mushy for me, the pro version is more firm/crisp and I’d say better tension maintenance. For sure give it a go.
