What's the lightest string/stretchiest string?

Yonex Pro Poly Tour is listed as heavier for lets say 20ft coil but on my 16x19 most strings I need 18ft mains to string it (need string to connect to the puller) with YPTP yellow I only need like 16.5 feet because it stretches so much and plays very light.

Not all coils of string are 40 feet. some are 37 and some are 42. even though they're marked as 40. Yes string weight has a significant impact on swing weight.
I use Volkl Cyclone 19 1.10mm or Solinco Tour bite 19 / 1.10mm to really get the swing weight down. And as with all polys, they loose tension before they break so for us,
these strings last just as long (and play better) than the thicker versions of the same string.

I'm quite interested to try a Kevlar hybrid like Pro-Blend, because I like the feel and they're supposed to be lighter. Anyone have a zip-tie or installed weight for Kevlar or Kevlar hybrids? I'm hoping around 10g installed.

Higher tension will need less string. Lower tension will need more string. Maybe we should mention the string tension and the racquet head size and string pattern as well.

To state the obvious:
1) stretchier strings will end up with less length installed and thus add less mass.
2) in general, Yonex, Volkl, and Kirschbaum strings are heavier than most others of the comparable shape and gauge.
3) 1 extra gram of string weight adds about 2 SW points.

Do you know how the silver 7 tour 1.30 compares to the 1.25 in weight? A little shocked it came in higher. Not bad but surprised

No. It wouldn't be "significantly" more. It would "feel" different only because of the string's play characteristics.

Very similar.

To me:
-v8 has a slightly more satisfying feel on contact. v9 is more muted, but it isn’t a huge difference.
-v9 feels slightly more stable at the same specs. But both have such low weight and swingweight, and therefore you can add so much weight wherever you want to, that I don’t think this is much of a difference in practice either.

I would buy whatever you can get cheaper.

as far as i know soft can be relatively heavy (e.g soft poly like Revolve, natural gut), but nylon strings tend to be lighter

Yes tele, it is as you say i think. I knew some Yonex strings being heavy but soft like PTP but didnt think Wilson be like that..

Btw anyone know the weight of;
Hyper-G SOFT 1.20? I assume it is not 20gr as Hyper-g 1.20 original? Lighter maybe?

I don’t know if it’s been posted before but I measured the empty plastic reel:
200m is 50grams
100m is 40grams

And 2 strings:
Prince Premier Control 1.30 12m (just string, no zip tie) is 18grams
Prince Premier Power 1.25 12m is 16grams

That’s the most accurate my scale can do
