Ultrashot 4?

Mr Backhand

Rookie
Does anyone know if an Ultrashot 4 is coming out sometime next year? I know K-Swiss has added to its portfolio of players massively this year and didn't know if they have a new shoe in the works as the 3 has been around for a little while now.

Do you know if those will be speed shoes or stability shoes?

I don't. To me they look like a bit of a mix. The midsole looks pretty cushioned in the Rublev pics but the upper seems more lightweight and streamlined than the US 4's profile. Pinnacle also looks like a full sock style upper while the description of the US4 seems like a semi-sock style now. IMO KSwiss might position the Pinnacle as the.... well, "pinnacle" of speed & support :-D while the US4 will remain their beefiest shoe.

What differences do your keen eyes see?

These are pretttay, pretttay nice. They feel a little more structured than the 3's. I have a wider foot but still like the shoe to hug me and these fit me pretty much perfectly. I was a big fan of the 3's but I like the feel of these better when walking around. Its a little firmer which i like. Went same size as the three's. It will be at least a week before I can play in them but I'm confident these are going to be a great shoe.

Firmer in the upper or in the cushioning?
Do they feel any lighter?
Seems like they reworked the upper material and I know some complained the Ultrashot 3 was a bit hefty. Albeit, most shoes are pretty heavy now.

Steaks

He is talking about steaks. IDK why he would just mention food preferences in the middle of a discussion about shoes  as that all seems very confusing to me to just go and do that. Very out of place but yes, he is saying he prefers MEDIUM to MEDIUM WELL steaks. I am sure of it! Hopefully he replies soon and gives us all the confirmation that I was right.sorrycouldn'tresistlol

Alot of words for a mediocre joke
C+

Riiiiight... Steaks. Taking the mom to Ruths chris on saturday. Will report back..

In regards to the Kswiss Ultrashot 4, the shoe just seems to hug me better. its more streamlined. And the cushioning does seem a bit more responsive. more bounce. less squishy. Still havent played in them. brutal cold spell in the Carolinas...

glad i was able to score the 3s for $70 lol was afraid they'll be hefty (coming from GR9), but was really surprised when i didn't even think of them being on while playing. Dr Zach raved on these, so may give them a try at some point.

I've played in these a couple times and while they are a quality shoe, i take FDZ with a grain of salt. I prefer the VP3, barricade, and Res 10 over the ultrashot 4. I felt like the Ultrashot 4 was holding me back from maximum speed. its still a little clunky feeling. I don't feel that way with my other shoes. Comfortable with great cushion though.

Even more clunky than the Res 10? Yet to try both shoes but surprising enough

I've changed my mind. Ultrashot 4 and the barricade 13 are tied for my favorite shoe. Once they are broken in, the ultrashot 4 is the most comfortable shoe I've worn in a couple years. The barricade is a touch more stable but I could wear the ultrashot 4 on court all day without issue.

1A: Ultrashot 4
1B: Baricade 13
2: Resolution X
3: VP3

Next test is the vapor 12. we shall see.

Is it the most cushioned? Have you worn the eclipsion 5 by any chance? Looking for ultimate cushioning for standing.

How would you rate the toebox width in the 4s as compared to the other shoes?

Yonex Eclipsion 5 is the standard for me personally in terms of the best combination of speed, comfort, and stability at the moment. If you take stock of what Foot Doctor Zach says, I think he would put the Diadora Torneo 3 and B.Icon 3s and Lacoste AG-LT Ultra on that elite level too. I think the Gel Res 10 (Asics dropped the ball totally on this update), new Mizuno WET 2 (they messed up a great shoe in the original by removing the double ankle collar), Nike Vapor 12, Yonex Ad Accel, K-Swiss Pinnacle, and Adidas Cybersonic 2s are all on the next level down.

Do you have feet-on experience with all or most of these shoes? Which in your experience would best protect arthritic hips and knees and fit high arched feet with spread out forefoot (latent Taylor’s bunion )?
