I am having trouble getting this thing to work properly. It is very finicky and the screen flashes on and off. My first experience with this thing isn't great by any means.

Anyone who uses this as a calibrator feel free to shout out some suggestions!

Since my last post I have figured out what the issue was. The temperature suggestions for the scale say 65-85 Fahrenheit. Needless to say I was not able to get the scale turned on let alone getting accurate readings until it was near 75 in my house.

Under those conditions, I was getting repeatably accurate reading within .1 pounds each time.

Hmmmm...that seems a little touchy. That scale should work reliably and accurately within its published engineering specification. It might be worth a call to the company to see what they have to say. Remember, it’s designed to operate in a much harsher environment i.e., (fishing) than you would expect to find in the average stringers basement. It should work perfectly throughout its published specification.

Oh...one other thing. Although they state that the temperature measurement feature is an "option" on the device mine came with that feature (without ordering it specifically). If you press and hold the "Tare" button for over two seconds it may enter the temperature read out mode (if you have it). If so then you can see what it "thinks" the temperature is, which should be close to what the load cell temperature of the device is. This value may be in degrees 'C' though (not 'F'). Press "ON/OFF" key to exit temperature mode.

Great find SD! I just checked mine (did not order mine with the temp feature either) and it said 73.1 C. I know its not actually 73 C but it is most certainly right around 73 F.

Interesting. Mine, like both of yours, has the temp. mode though i didn't order it as such. Thanks for the tips SD!
