Unable to create new conversations with >3 members

It seems around the time of the last update we lost the ability to create new private conversations with more than 3 users in them. Could you confirm if this is a bug or if it is deliberate?

More than a year has passed, with no answer to this question

Since then, I've seen several private group conversations (that used to be quite vibrant) slowly die out, as the users in them gradually become inactive.

And because of the 3-user limit, we can no longer rejuvenate those by creating new conversations replacing the inactive users with new, active users.

Is there any expectation that this bug/change be fixed/reverted, and that we can again create new private group conversations with 20+ users in them? (the more the better, really)

This may be seen as a fringe issue, but to me, it is making the site much less enjoyable than it used to be.

Just bumping this because it has a fairly recent post. The new software update finally allows certain parts of posts to easily be highlighted again, that's a plus.

The header sure shrunk at the top of the page too.
