That's probably true. The longer you play, the harder it gets to maintain an unbroken record (unless you simply stop playing in order to preserve it).

This is true. Federer was once 5-0 in Wimbledon and US Open finals. Nadal was once 8-0 in Monte Carlo finals.

They spoiled this prestigious stat by making more big finals even when not at their best, shame on them.
