Uncle Toni says that Nadal is almost ready to return ....

Man I've been here a minute and I can't recall it ever being this toxic on these boards. You can not like a tennis player but respect their accomplishments. This is exactly why you shake hands after a match. At the end of the day you're defending the accolades and game of a complete stranger, so chill on all fn whining and enjoy what's left in these players.

The man was always gearing back for RG, it was never a surprise, no magic healing him, it's called time (and I'm sure alot of $). If you think this is some sort of nefarious master plan by skipping all these warm up events that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

Uncle Toni is once again proving the best source of Rafael Nadal news as the Spaniard confirmed his nephew is nearing a return.

It's probably music to the ears of many Nadal fans who have watched these past few weeks unfold with a lot of trepidation. Hip injuries are very uncomfortable as Nadal was able to see with his return taking a lot longer than the initial prognosis said. It's not yet clear when he will truly return but his uncle confirmed that a competitive return is near, when speaking to RTVE.

Nadal's preparation for the clay season has not been ideal as he was mostly forced to hit the ball in order to preserve his arm but movement will take a while. On a surface where it's so crucial Toni Nadal explained that he will be in a tough spot at Roland Garros due to not being able to play since January.

He's not going to be the favorite heading into the event with very little preparation but if he gets a few matches in and manages to advance to the second week of the event, Nadal will certainly be a favorite according to Toni.

Time to throw money at a Rafito RG title @Kralingen

Yes of late it has been extremely toxic. There are a few that keep pouncing on every thread made here to make it as distasteful as possible.

I love how Nadal can't play MC, Barca, Madrid and you are suddenly entitled to watch RG without him. Like, how dare he recover now?

On the serious note. Do you actually think that he inteniotnally decided to nosedive in the rankings, leave millions of dollars on the table by skipping 4 M1000's, arrive at RG without any match play and have huge risk to have a terrible draw based on his rankings? For what? What is the great plan here in your brain?
The Nadal and his Family on TTW is simultaneously omnipotent and impotent depending on the narrative that needs pushing

Consider how hilarious it is that so many are petrified a 37 year old might play RG. Players like Sinner, Zedrot or Greek plagiarist should crush an old man who is rusty and has no match play. Instead they'll all meekly get mowed over. As predictable as clockwork.
No one is making case of next gen, lost gen all gens have been crap. Sometimes they get underrated but they are crap. One bright spot is Carlito and everyone is afraid of him.

Who told you that he almost retired?

No one yet but I will bet $10 that at some point it will be brought up--that it was nearly the end, and poor Rafito recovered by miraculous hard work and pure dedication. Whether he will say it, or his team, or Yim Courier remains to be seen, but it's coming and will be amplified across the media sphere.

I told you who will be the first to say that he is close to retirement. In fact I have to correct myself. It has already happened. Many of you Nadal haters/********** have already said that during his absence from the tour.

The fact is that Nadal himself is annoyed everytime this thing is brought up by reporters/media and he hates to speak about it. On this forums, you are the one who brought it up, not Nadal, not his fans.

I asked this question to somebody earlier so I ask the same you:

Do you actually think that he intentionally decided to nosedive in the rankings, leave millions of dollars on the table by skipping 4 M1000s, refuse to play his favorite events in the twilight of his career, refuse to play his home tournaments, potentially arrive at RG without matchplay and significantly increase his chances of getting terrible draw?

Honestly, when it comes to these guys and managing their schedules, who the heck knows?

I do know that he is the boy who cried "I didn't know if I'd ever play again".

Rankings don't matter to him so much, he has been pretty clear about that.

He said that chasing number 1 does not mean as much to him as It meant in his 20's. You obviously are going to skew what he said into "rankings don't matter". Beeing seeded at a slam at 1-4 vs diving down in the rankings matters a lot duh.

Anyway your post just made me realise that it is pointless to speak on this subject with you. You are so far beyond in searching for conspiracies that you will believe in all sorts of absurdities. And you will not admit it because you know that it is an absurd instead hide youself behind "you know, who the heck knows? could be, could be not..."

Rafa has never miraculously recovered.

This thread following the usual pattern then….those with an anti Rafa agenda misrepresenting information to suit themselves
The idea of him playing RG seems to worry them for some reason.

It amazes me that, after multiple explanations, Rafa bashers still haven't understood that Rafa has a congenital anomaly of a tarsal bone in his left foot that causes pain. Pain flares up from time to time and becomes unbearable.
After he said "I didn't know if I'd ever play again, he underwent a procedure called Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) on the left foot to “numb” certain nerves and thus to reduce pain. RFA does not cure the condition, it only provides temporary pain relief. It just "burns" the nerves and thus blocks the pain signals that the nerves send to the brain.
Nerves regenerate themselves after the procedure and another procedure needs to be performed. He has undergone the procedure on the foot several times after using it in summer 2022 (between RG and Wimbledon) for the first time. The only permanent cure for his congenital left foot problem is surgery, but it would decrease mobility of the foot and thus end his career as a pro tennis player.

Don't misinterpret. We just don't like this Rafan attitude when Rafa loses is because of injury. Like after RG2021.

When are you guys going to accept reality? If he plays an event then he is fit. No excuse.

I’m not misinterpreting. It’s plainly obvious when he is injured. If you choose to ignore it, that’s your problem. Many players play while carrying an injury and it’s very apparent.
The reality is Djokovic fans like you can’t accept that despite Novak’s record. Try focussing on your favourite player instead of banging on ad nauseum, slagging off someone you don’t like. It’s so banal.

Here is the question. Did Novak beat healthy Nadal in RG2021?

Federer was one point away from winning Wimbledon with almost 38 and after playing more than 10 and a half hours against three top 10 players and one of them, with the best stamina in the world and you didn't say anything about miracles, and now, you're prattling on in frustration that someone you hate so much could only play a couple of tournaments on his favorite tour of the season without even knowing what level he is going to show.

Rafa bashers can't handle the truth. That's why they constantly generate fake stories about him.

So Nadal who won 7 straight games vs Diego Schwartzman and then 5 straight games vs world number 1 Djokovic was injured. He won 12 straight games while injured vs 2 top 10 players. Is that what you are trying to say?

If yes, then I understand why Rafa's injuries are always questioned.

Dude after that RG21 he went on for half a season off tour because he couldn't play.

Majority of matches he ever lost was when he was healthy like ao12, ao17, ao19, wim18 and many many more.

He also lost sometimes when he was hurt like ao14, ao23 and rg21.

See you Rafans are using injury excuse for your loss. Now if and most likely he loses this year, the winner will get no credit for beating Nadal.

This is just an awful turn of responses in this thread.

Toni should have just kept his mouth shut. He speaks more than what Rafa would want him to say.

Haven't you seen Nadal's level after Wimbledon 2022?
He sucks more than in 2015; with that I tell you everything.

With no due respect and offense should be taken, you would have to be a knuckle dragging, smooth brained Neanderthal if you honestly think RAFA has faked this injury to miss the entire CC season thus far. This also applies if you think he’s “miraculously healed” in a mere 5 months 8-B

Lol that’s really going out on a limb there :-D

On a serious note, the dude has been out of competition since January. There’s nothing “miraculous” about coming back from a grade 2 muscle strain in 5 months. If anything that’s a much later time table for such an injury. This weird victim mentality and simultaneous obsession with Courier has got to stop.

What do you honestly expect from the **********, from Rosstour, from letitbe and all those guys?

Open your eyes, this is all part of the plan to win Wimbledon.

********* seem to be very disappointed in a posibility of Nadal making in to the RG this year. Even though they were saying that he is faking it to "GO FULL BLAST AT RG" they are acting now like a baby who has been given a candy and then taken it back.

Relax my dear Djoko fans, I wouldn't take what Toni Nadal says for granted. He still might not recover for RG and even if he does he will be rusty without playing a competitive tennis match for almost half a year.

Well I will take everything as it comes and not try to predict anything. Have already felt disappointed thinking will return at Mc then Barcelona, madrid so now just hope is all I can do. Even not playing Rg won’t shock me but seeing him practice since so long and even now on clay gives me hopes that he is preparing for Rg. Even last year preparation was not ideal and foot issue was there. This time atleast he will be fresh and not hopefully having any injuries.
