"Underachieving" Roddick has 24 titles and Davis Cup championship

While he's won the one major, he's won 24 titles now. He's a Davis Cup champion. He's been to about 4 major finals. He's gotten to a few semis or quarterfinals as well.

Andy Roddick will not go down in the same breath as McEnroe or Connors or Sampras or Agassi. He's not one of the five greatest U.S. players of all time. But I'd put him in the top 10 U.S. players of all time. I really would.

While Roddick will never volley or slice or hit backhands like the greatest players ever, he's demonstrating very good play for a decent stretch now and will retire having a damn good career. If not for dealing with the greatest player of all time in Fed, he'd end up having an excellent career--of course I mean this relative to his ability and the expectations for him. Compared to us, he's had a phenomenol out of this world career

Federer isn't greatest player of all time yet,that's for sure,Sampras is.Still two grand slam trophy are missing in his collection.I can't be the greatest if someone else have more grand slam trophies.

Federer is ALREADY better than Sampras for one simple fact. He's already gotten to TWO French finals and a semi. In 12 years, Sampras got to ONE semi in France and got his butt kicked by Kafelnikov--winning but one game in the last two sets.

If not for playing the GREATEST clay courter ever in Nadal, Fed would easily have two French titles. Regardless, he has demonstrated a FAR SUPERIOR ability on clay than Sampras. That alone makes him better as he's every bit as good as Sampras was on grass, indoor or hard.

Sorry Jimbo...Roddick is a complete overrated tool. Nadal has sick talent but it's wayyy too early to label him best ever in anything. Maybe Nadal is the greatest tennis fashion mistake...that's about it.

Roddick should've married that Hollywood bim and retired from tennis. I sense Andy will have a major breakdown when the camera bulbs stop flashing...and the fans turn their backs on him....get ready for a meltdown...

I think Roddick will play better once the U.S. is off his back. When he dropped in rankings, that's when he started to play his best tennis. All the pressure was on Blake to carry the flag, then Roddick came back and stormed through Cincinnati and the U.S. Open.

It's been a week since you made this statement. Care to change your tune? Roddick - "a complete overrated tool" - beat Nadal - who according to you, "has sick talent".
