Unfit, error -prone and heavy Serena

Didn't Paula Abdul do this on video many years ago? Here's the ad:

It would be a disaster for her if she loses in the first round to that Chinese girl ( who is actually quite decent).

Very funny!! Obviously, Serena has the genetic factor going on with the thighs, butt and breast thing.

But, the fact that she could allow herself to get such a large booty and large thighs points to her lack of dedication.

As a world class tennis player who has had some great success, it's odd how she wouldn't be a bit embarrassed to show up at a practice or for a match looking closer to Aunt Jemina than top professional tennis player. Kind of mind-boggling actually. I really think she's about done. I'd be very, very surprised to ever see her win a major again--even with her mental toughness.

calling anyone in w.a. have any of you seen the latest picture of serena in the sunday times ? her butt is as round as the moon and her thighs stretch all the way to china.

She says shes fit. Could it be al muscle??

lets see at the aussie open . .

LOL Everyone's making such a fuss over the Williams sisters. Who cares if Serena is overweight? It's her choice if she's fat. (Not saying that she is, and not saying that she's not.)

Okay, I'll say it. She's FAT--at least she has a very FAT butt. That thing looks hideous. She could lose 12-15 pounds in her ass alone--and another 8-10 in her thighs. She is 25 pounds or more overweight.

Is it easy to get rid of the fat/muscle in your butt? unless, I don't know, you cut it off or something... heh

It's obvious she's out of shape. In her first round match she's breathing heavily between points and is clearly significantly slower than when she was in prime form. I remember in the US Open 2002 against Venus she was all over the place, moved great and didn't seem out of breath at all. There was even one point where she leaped into the air to drive a backhand crosscourt for a winner, landing on one foot smoothly. I cringe at imagining her trying that nowadays.

Not to change the subject but this is the best shape Martina Hingis has ever been in IMHO. Best since she wore those really short skirts.

I agree. She always had that round, sort of full face. You can see her having lost some wieght and being "tighter" in her arms, stomach and even legs. She looks good. I still don't think she can beat Davenport, Mauresmo, Heni, Clijsters or even Mauresmo or Pierce on hardcourt. I think she'll be eventually overpowered--although not as badly as she used to be.

A few more chicken nuggets and Serena will be able to apply for disability. The tree-trunk leg look is soooooooo 1310!

I believe my original post sums up my thoughts on this woman who has wasted prime years of her career--and most likely will never win a grand slam event again.

To come into a major that slow and out of shape (for her) speaks volumes as to her lack of commitment, her own arrogance and just a pathetic job of preparation by herself and those around her. What a waste of talent.

Same old sloppy play and errors galore. Painful to watch her sometimes. Why she won before was her incredible power and athletic ability and a great mental toughness. Tennis wise, her game has always been very sloppy--like her backside and thighs. Who is coaching her? Her mechanics on her groundstrokes are so bad sometimes. She's using a ridiculous racket and it's obvious she has not worked with a fitness trainer that can get her slimmed down and moving well again.

I really believe she has managed her career very, very poorly now for three years. And she is now an old 24 whose injuries have often been her own fault--with her extra weight causing excessive knee, hip and ankle strain. I guarantee her weight coming into the open was no less than 180 pounds. Bottom line--Serena got what's coming to her. Maybe this will shut her up for a while and when she does play next, maybe she will have gone down a size and a half, actually look like a world class tennis player, have changed to a player's racket that allows for more touch and feel and will have actually been working hard with a fitness trainer and coach on a DAILY BASIS.

Serena...

She is not aging well. Time for her to grow up and pay the piper if she wants to compete at championship level.

Spoiled brat.

Serena was in New York with Venus at a Super Bowl party (I wonder which team did they root for - Steelers or Seahawks?) and she was also at a fashion show. I hope that Serena (and Venus) will be ready to play in Belgium and Dubai.:) :)

My thoughts exactly! Hey Phil, how's it going?

Personally, I think we should get her some hormones and turn her back into a woman. She's so arrogant - and she's got nothing to back that up with. If she's going to be a great female athlete, she should look the part.

serena's shape

I am a woman but if you all hate Serena so much, why continue to watch her? switch your television! I personally don't belabour ugly men it's a waste of time. By the way Megaced, how in God's name are you gonna make Serena more of a woman , look at the google images!

To paraphrase Tetrazzini - "Sono vecchia, sono grassa, sono brutta, ma sono sempre la Serena!"

Hey AndyC, are you quoting Luisa Tetrazzini??

If it is indeed her you are quoting, she had an amazing voice. What fantastic coloratura, I wish it were possible to listen to her voice as it would have sounded if recorded with modern recording technology.

Amazing indeed, but who was she talking about? Surely not her fellow sopranos?;)

Well I think Serena is too self-confident

I think her self-esteem is not adequate, too high, and that is the point.
She believes she's an Afro-American sex-bomb but she has no reasons for it.
No doubt she finds her shape and weight sexy, but not the others. As for her fitness - do you really think Serena knows what it is?:)

Serena once again looks out of shape. The overly thick thighs. The overly large rear end. She just doesn't get it.

I believe she'll never win another major. Her extra weight will not allow to stay uninjured as she puts too much strain on her joints. She's already lost at least 1/2 to a full step. Her mobility and agility is not that good anymore either.

She has wasted her talent over the last three years and has gotten sloppy--both with her eating habits and poor fitness, and her continued mechanical flaws in her groundstrokes. Her unforced errors make it painful to watch her sometimes. Her days of overpowering and out athleticizing people are over.
What a waste!!

Ah-hem

Serena definitely has high self-esteem. There is no such thing as having too much self-esteem.

Serena is an African American sex-bomb. She has plenty of reason to think so because she has a mirror. Her size and shape right now are extremely sexy. She does not come from a race of people whose motto is "you can never be too rich or too thin." She finds herself sexy, and millions of men find her sexy, so who are these others you speak of? Most Black men prefer women who are exactly Serena's shape and size.

The problem is that she's not fit enough to compete at a high level. She looks great, but not for a pro-athlete. If you want to talk about that, fine, but you can't say she's not beautiful and sexy because it's just not true.

I'd also like to point out that the racism in your post is transparent. You insulted Whites by insinuating their motto is "you can never be too rich or too thin". Making a blanket statement like that is the same as saying Blacks love watermellon and robbing people. You also insulted Asians, Hispanics and other races who likewise prefer a nice slim body.

A woman who eats healthy, exercises and takes care of herself usually reaps the benefits of being slim and toned. That's not ugly... it's beautiful.

A woman who spends her life pigging out on fast food and sitting on the sofa usually gets fat. Not only is that dumb and unhealthy, it's just plain ugly.

If you want to make the argument that cellulite and love-handles are sexy, then fine... you're entitled to your opinion. But please don't insult other races while trying to make your point.

I did not insult white, Asian, or Hispanic people. Nor did I make up the motto of "you can never be too rich or too thin." It's pure truth. That is how the majority of white women feel in this country. If you doubt it, just watch a fashion show and tell me what these "models" look like. If you felt insulted it's because the truth tends to sticks in one's craw when he/she does not want to admit it.

And please, Serena is not at the cellulite and love handle stage. She gained weight, but she's not obese yet, so let's not get carried away.
