Uniqlo ND: A Complete Obituary

RIP Uniqlo Nole, long live Lacoste Nole. This thread is practically stolen from @King No1e but this time with Novak as the main hero. Looking back at those designs may show us what to expect with Roger.

RG12:

Very simple and classy IMO. He also worn all navy (not black like most people think) outfit, but I think those 2 look much more pleasent. Very subtle use of Serbian flag colours. Also well executed zipper polos. Not many brands can pull it off (lacoste is the only other one that comes to my mind). This was the debut of the ND logo, though it was implemented rather poorly on the shirt. Bonus: the only uniqlo outfit he worn with different shoes than B7s.

W12:

His ugliest uniqlo wimbledon outfit. Reminded me a bit of 2010 wimby ST. Didn't like the use of green and the fact that purple was used just for the collar. Also this is the first time we see lines on sides of the whole outfit (shirt and shorts), which will become one of the most common uniqlo ND outfit elements.

2012 Olympics:

Much cleaner than the Wimbledon outfit. Awesome collar. The second outfit is the first of many never released to the public. The clean white shorts he wore there debuted in 2016 Nishikori RG line.

USO12:

First use of thicker stripes on the sides.

Shanghai 2012:

The red asian swing shirt tradition begins. This particular recolour of USO12 polo was never sold anywhere.

WTF12:

First UQ all black. Shouldn't have worn white shoes though. Another never released outfit. Black socks were first released in 2017.

AO13:

One of my favourites. The stripes on the sleeves give it a nice retro look, while the zipper and slim fit made it feel a bit more modern. Also bonus:

Those shorts remind me of boxing ones. I know there's a lot of Rocky fans here and how fitting was it to wear them for the Stanimal debut.

Navy again.

He first worn this one for AO, but played in it in Indian Wells more often.

The retail 2013 versions of those shirts didn't have uniqlo logos on the right sleeves and the left sleeve ND logo was in a "block". They re-released the navy-yellow shirt in 2015 and that version looks the same as Novak's.

Dubai 2013:

The first of the infamous "pyjama" outfits. Grey and yellow really do not work together.

Navy (or black dunno, they never realesed '13 grey outfits) and grey are bit better though.

Monte Carlo 2013:

Yellow instead of green. Back when Uniqlo and Adidas clearly weren't working together.

RG13:

Beautiful shirt and amazing semi final. Willow-green polo with brown accents worked surprisingly well.

Much more simplistic version. The shirt has some purple shade to it, though it is blue. The retail versions didn't have the colar details and stripes on the sides were solid instead of fading. They also sold all blue outfits instead of white shorts.

W13:

Same cut as RG. Dunno if the accents are black or brown, since I don't have the shirt.

USO13:

All of those look great. The public got black-green instead of white-green shorts:

WTF13:

Black spiderman suit. First available in 2015. Just the shirt though, with two grey stripes missing. If they try something similar with Roger it's worth pointing out that those grey seams can be scratchy (they're present from the other side as well) and you have to get used to it.

AO14:

The yin-yang shirt seemed fitting as the Stanimal brought the balance to the force with his first win in 3 attempts. Nike tried something similar this year, but with much more simple shapes. The retail outfit was a bit different with black shorts instead of grey:

White, red and grey? NOPE

Dubai 2014:

Two shades of black look stunning

The pyjama strikes back.

Monte Carlo 2014:

While he wasn't fine in MC, his outfit definitely was. Unavailable to the public yet again.

Rome 2014:

Puke. Worn only for the trophy presentation.

RG14:

Doesn't get any cleaner than that. Retail shorts were baby blue and navy, just like the polos.

USO14:

Red, navy and white. Also, the stripes on the sides are back.

WTF14:

I have trouble telling this and '12 one apart.

AO15:

White, blue and navy. Very similar to the USO14. Player exclusive wristbands. Also around the time of AO15 uniqlo released almost all the styles from previous seasons, one colour each.

Monte Carlo 2015:

Same style, different colors. Player exclusive.

RG15:

Simplistic and court blending yet again. Couldn't find the pics, but there also was black polo with orange sleeves, worn with white shorts with orange stripes.

Wimbledon:

Montreal 2015:

Same as AO/clay court season, but I don't remember him wearing it back then. Debut of the Novak Pro with his face on the tongue.

USO15:

Basically Uniqlo's take on Fed's '09. All 4 colorways were available for sale.

WTF15:

Player exclusive. The return of the zipper. One of the "unusual" Djokovic designs.

AO16:

Yellow is back.

Dubai 2016:

AO16 style with AO15 colour. Another player exclusive.

Madrid 2016:

Now in red. PE again.

Yes they are cheaper clothing, but I'm sure what Nole, and Fed get, is not what we get off the shelf.

But I also like his Lacoste stuff so far.

Nole slam. Red shirt with black shorts is my favourite outfit of all time. It's darker than usual. The retail version of white shirts and shorts had black stripes instead of red and black ones had white lines.

W16:

Same cut. Gold trim didn't work out too well as he lost in the 3rd round though. Still, probably my favourite uniqlo wimbledon outfit.

Toronto 2016:

One of the M1000 shirts that was actually available for sale.

Rio 16:
Bonus:

All serbian athletes wore 4F (brand from my country ) apparel for Rio olympics. Djokovic only had few shirts for practice.

One of his best outfits IMO, but not his lucky one for sure.

USO16:

This shirt looks much more green in person, but hey the zipper is back.

I like that those are so clean that while wearing them you almost don't look like a pro wannabe.

WTF16:

And another awesome player exclusive.

AO17:

Revolution, henley instead of a polo. Shorts and socks were player exclusive.

Acapulo 2017:

Looked better here with white sorts imo.

Monte Carlo 2017:

Ended just like it started. Navy shirt with white shorts.

I like most of the Nole Uniqlo gear (and own 10 of his shirts, ha.) However, my favorite by far is his USO'15 gear. Just excellent.

While nothing beats STovic, I really liked the simplicity of Uniqlo. My favorites are AO13 and 16, WTF12 and 16. Also USO13 where he looked like a walking strawberry

Yeah, I've included the 2016 resell. They updateted the shirts by removing the boxy logo. I also know that's when wtf '13 and '14 and maybe olympics '12 were first available. Could you name the shirts that I named PE exclusive that were later available?

I wish they stayed with the zipper all the way. Didn't realize how much I enjoy zipper polos till I tried those and now I constantly want them. At least on my activewear polos.

Considering that they are Japanese, they might take your comments as a compliment, ha. If it was Italian, French or American, I would hate it with all my powers. Knowing that it's Japanese makes me accept it without a doubt. It's different.

I loved the design, but unless you are batman, grey and yellow seem to be impossible match to me.

I would also like to present the problem I adressed eariler with the ND logo. For the very logo time it looked like this in the retail version (until USO15 I think):

Then on the 2016 update:

The logo is normal. (Worth pointing out that the '16 version of this shirt actually has different sleeve colour. It can't be observed on the picture, but it seems to be a bit more green than the original. Change for worse imo).

What's also worth pointnig out is that all 2016 remakes had those labels on them (blue for Nole, red for Kei):

Dunno which version is worth more. The ones with peugot logo seem to be the rarest, but I was never interested in them.

I doubt we'll be seing RF logo in the square. I also think there will probably be mercedes logo on his sleeve and shirts with it available exclusively on his website.

Fail post. We've only seen one outfit that's only allowed to be white! How can you judge Novak's line of years worth of outfits color matched to the latest Adidas shoes to one outfit in a restrictive tournament?

Was going through some items to post on "the bay", so I figured I may aswell take some pics of uniqlo stuff.

OG12 and USO12:

Lose to Murray starter pack. The white shorts are from Kei RG16 collection, as that's the only time they were available.

AO13 and RG13:

The "Be careful not to rip the shirt or get hit in the face by Nadal" apparel line.

USO13:

You'll win literally EVERY match apart from the slam final while wearing those.

WTF13 and AO14:

The grey shirt may make you serve and then miss an easy volley on a match point. The shorts with red stripes come from the USO13. The only difference between those and the retail AO14 ones were the placement of one of the stripes near the pocket. The fully black ones are from Kei's RG16 line. Uniqlo never released WTF13 shorts with grey stripes, nor the grey wristbands from that or the following event (USO16 wb are the the alternative).

RG14, USO14 and AO15:

The blue AO15 shirt is the only non-red one that has white ND logo. It also makes you look tired and and destroys opponents concentration as a result.

RG15:

Probably the most popular uniqlo design. Best to avoid guys wearing pyjama shorts in this outfit.

USO15:

Fun fact: The red shirt is the only Uniqlo polo (apart from RG12 and WB12) that has ND initials on the sleeve in colour different than red or white (navy).

RG16:

OG16:

Don't come to Brasil.
