Uniqlo US Open

got the 3XL Black T, all I wanted. (largest size for the polo is XL? Give me a break.) Socks for GOAT and Kei already gone. Well done, Uniqlo. Earlier the site was returning 404 on all merch. These guys can't even do a product launch right.

Uniqlo is the worst. Anyone can try and justify why RF left and the money and how cheap the product is, making it easier for the consumer to buy. But here are facts, and I am sure people will say I do not know anything etc:
1- If you look at RF's shorts Wimbledon and on, he is using the material from nike shorts - clear as day if you look close.
2- Uniqlo does not care about branding RF, and using his logo.
3- The deal in the end was terrible for RF, he knows that.
4- You guys keep asking about Nike and the shoe deal etc. - When RF left nike they were slightly open to doing a shoe deal, things were not good between Godsick and Nike. Nike was making RF custom colorways for the Open and Laver Cup and Basel. Then seniors at nike were pissed and said we are happy to provide RF sneakers but it has to be retail colors.
5- That is why since Aussie 19 you have not seen him wearing anything other than retail colors

Regardless if people think I know or not, Uniqlo has done a horrific job and wish the GOAT stayed with nike and they kept growing the RF brand.

I got my self one RF short and one Kei short (blue). Those shorts will go very well with my Djokovic's Uniqlo shirts collection. I also bought a couple of Roger hats.

Going to be in NY this Friday - wondering if I should order online or check it out at Uniqlo and purchase there. Thoughts?
I live in NYC and work near that store. I can confidently tell you I walked in during wimbledon and they had his FO kit for sale $19.99 - shirts and shorts. The store always has stuff, never really moves. But that is just my observation. Same with his AO 19 kit. It was sitting for months.

I appreciate the insight. Good to know thanks.

Last year the USO stuff was sold out the Sunday before the tournament started. I would expect with all the tennis fans coming to NYC for the Open things will be harder to get than the recent Wimb and AO items

I was just at uniqlo 34th st. Socks were going fast. Not sure how much they keep in the back. Seemed well stocked in the shirts, shorts, hats etc

They put the stuff right by the entrance. When I was there, there was probably 20 other people going right for that stuff. But they did seem to have a lot of everything except socks

Socks seem to be one thing to sell out which I kind of find mind boggling haha.

Of course. Literally blocks away, but I do not want you to miss out. So maybe order. The store does not even really highlight where tennis is or that it is RF gear. Crazy, but whatever ha. Good luck!

Must be different stores.

I don't think I'm going to buy this one. I feel like if I buy it he will lose for sure.

I think there is more interest now. They marketed this a little harder than last year since they had a lot more lead time.

I think you're right. But I really don't think they were doing that badly before like a couple of posters in this thread keep saying. I've always been able to buy the items that I've wanted, for both Federer and Nishikori's kits and Djokovic from before. And I live in the U.S.

But I haven't tried to buy socks yet :sneaky:

Agreed. Their site's should have a constant lineup available, not just a shirt/shorts/socks for the Slams. They're the worst at marketing an athlete; but then we saw this with Djoker. Fed knew what he was doing- he went for the money. Simple.

Well, I am very close to their flagship SF store, and if you ask about Fed stuff, you still get blank looks. STILL. And not one item to be found. Zero. This is San Francisco, not exactly a backwater burg.
Amazing and poorly done by Uni. This would never happen with Nike. But we all know that.

Actually it was on sale. I saw it with my own eyes last year at the 5th avenue store.

Are you sure though? They sometimes have PE stuff exhibited on mannequins (usually wristbands), but there's no pics of that outfit being sold anywhere. No mentioning of it in Japan or China either.

What was he supposed to go after? You think that wearing nike is a virtue? All of those deals are done for the money, there's no morality involved. You're even getting higher quality for cheaper now as a fed fan so what's the problem? And you'd have to be braindead to have any troubles with getting fedr retail uniqlo items (only his love Paris shirt was tough to get, but each brand has limited releases). They have a constant line up as well. All the dry ex stuff is equivalent to nike/lacoste/adidas or other brand's "normal" non pro player releases. When it comes to player's specific apparel only RF mint and cincy stuff are missing this year when it comes to shirts/shorts. You may even get that stuff in a few years if they do the past outfits (re)release like they did with Kei and Novak before. This has never happened with Nike. But we all know that.

No, they don't have a constant lineup. Outside of the Slams, the page says "SOLD OUT MORE PRODUCT SOON." What they need is a day in day out line of sweats, T's, shorts, socks, etc. They don't have that. When your socks offering is sold out in sixty seconds, you aren't marketing properly.

Or their marketing is really good.

One guy complains things aren’t marketed right because the items are on the shelves forever and cand be found discounted and another says they aren’t marketed properly because they sell out too fast.

The Nike Federer fans will always find something to whine about with Uniqlo even though the prices are better and the quality is just as good, if not better. I guess they miss paying $100 for those Fed Nike shirts.

Funny you say their quality is better when Fed is having them make him his nike stuff with Uniqlo on it. lol.

I guess that’s the issue. You want to do whatever Federer does - a true fanboy.

You can’t make a decision yourself or have your own opinion on the clothes? Lol.

Yep, all of fed's stuff is actually a nike pj. So is Nishikori's. Or Novak's Lacoste. As we all know nike makes apparel of unparalleled quality sent to us directly from heaven. If there's any difference between what pro wears and the retail version then that means that the outfit was made by nike. Remember when Novak's retail shirts had three buttons last year, but the ones he played in had two? That was nike as well. The only quality brand out there.

It is funny that you people think it about in regards of a PJ. A company can get a sample of another vendors materials and try to produce that. Regarding Fed and being a fanboy, I do adore Fed. That said, after his loss to Millman and when he was practicing with Fusovics and Zverev on Sunday he complained to Seve that his shirt was not breathing again and he is drenched in 5 minutes. I think uniqlo's designs are boring and I think Nike lost it this year. All that said - you guys can make of it what you want.

If anyone who is doubtful about his actual apparel and just buy his real apparels then prove Uniqlo Federer items are PJ of Nike or other company.
From pics, it looks very similar fabric from retail version except logos are embroidery patches instead of heat transfer material.
I am not denying that there are some questions like Cincy shorts (from pics, it looks like a stripe pattern which Uniqlo does not use the fabric)
Also Uniqlo clearly states that retail versions are "replica" so Retail version can be different materials.

Honestly, Uniqlo is lazy that they don't want to experiment with other fabrics. They use same dry-ex fabrics forever.

Went to SF store, and they had everything in.......except zero pairs of socks. What IS it with these? The shirt seemed nice and the shorts are very nice. A bit heavier weight fabric than the shirt. T's are a medium weight cotton. Hats seemed kinda flimsy.

The black short is really nice. It goes perfectly with this shirt that I have:

Not sure if someone already mentioned it, but was watching the Uniqlo video they had with the Q&A held in the NYC store. He was saying, he will have a white version of the outfit for the day sessions. Would of def bought the white version of the outfit as well!

Why would they sell both of kei’s Outfits but not federer’s. Maybe it will be released later?

did you steal that from novak ? and Peugeot is the worst car in the world today. worse than Yogo and Kia

LOL.... My son is going to USO next week and he will be wearing Djokovic Uniqlo gear. He hope to get Djokovic to autograph his shirt, LOL.... I posted in the thread that I bought a whole bunch of brand new Djokovic's Uniqlo gear at a good will store: https://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/index.php?threads/lucky-me-nice-find.247471/page-78#post-13583287

I also bought a whole bunch of djokovic's uniqlo when I was in San Diego: https://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/ind...uniqlo-wardrobe-by-luck.645473/#post-13434679

I do not drive Peugeot. Peugeot left the US market in the early 80's due to relabilities and no one here in the US bought them. Everyone that I know or hang out with drives Lexus because it is the most reliable car around and comfortable too. I myself drive a Lexus RX350 and my wife drives an IS350. My older son bought those cars for us. He himself also drives a Lexus RX350 but he also has a Porsche 911 weekend car. The porsche 911 requires a lot of maintenance that it is not just an everyday car, unless you have multiple Porsche cars in the garage.
