It's a great movie, you should watch it. The tale of a sad old hasbeen who cannot accept that the game has moved on.

It doesn't end well .... :)
I like old films occasionally. Help me to learn about the past.

Are your memories of 1950 crisp?

No, not at all. Plus you are mixing players from different times. Who the hell remembers today who Andres Gimeno was?

I guess there is 13 years of age difference between Rios and DelPo.

Was Rios as popular as DelPo 7 years ago?

I have spent a lot of time in Chile, Argentina, Peru, Colombia and Ecuador.

Lol, you should be happy Nadal has the most slams right now. You can focus on that
Rafa has too many records that Djokovic can only dream about considering Rafa has only played a full season for less than half the years he's been on tour. Imagine if Rafa never had so many injuries.

No he doesn't.
MOST CONSECUTIVE WEEKS IN TOP 10 IN ATP RANKINGS HISTORY (incl. this week):

866 weeks: Rafael Nadal (2005-present)
789 weeks: Jimmy Connors (1973-1988)
741 weeks: Roger Federer (2002-2016)
619 weeks: Ivan Lendl (1980-1992)
565 weeks: Pete Sampras (1990-2001)
That’s a meaningless stat

No 1 is what matters and Djokovic has absolutely crushed him

@GabeT This is literally the answer to your question. The laugh at the end LOL
It doesn’t actually, if you bother to read the whole debate. I never focused on a 3 slam winner vs a no slam winner. And didn’t Novak have a similar situation towards the end of last year when it looked like he could lose the number 1 spot despite having 3 slams at the time? At least as I recall he handled that with more class. But to each their own

I think you told if anyone makes fun of players like Rios or Safina other than TTW and that was the answer to your question.

Everytime this record of Nadal is posted Novak fans become so so triggered. I mean two Novak fans started an unnecessary argument LOL. Before that no one even bothered to mention Novak but anything positive about Nadal triggers Novak fans. It also goes the other way BTW.

Isn’t that what TTW is for, after all?

Throwing dirt on each other's favourite players without any provocation? Is TTW about that. Obviously Novak has been the number 1 the longest. But if this stat of Nadal does not scream longevity, then I dont know what does. Why cant you appreciate that this stat is incredible and ridiculous at the same time. I agree that Novak's weeks at number 1 is so so incredible

I don’t think anyone doubts how incredible a player Nadal is. Nor his incredibly longevity. But trolling is what we do best here at TTW!

What does being a Big 3 fan have to do with anything? Pro athletes all care about being the best in the world. That’s what they train and aim for
Which is why the ATP rankings go all the way to 1000 and over... because it's completely irrelevant.

Everything matters, just in different degrees. This kind of child-like "all or nothing" absolutism is st I've abandoned when I was 5. It's fanatical, unrealistic, and very fanboyish.

In sports there is number 1 and then everything else

Well Fed did make that WB final at near 38. Rafa will have to make the final of 2024 RG to beat that (which he may well do but is yet to see)
This isn't the point.

The point is that they were convinced that RF's career would be vastly richer, longer and legendary than Nadal's. Turned out they're on the same level. 15 years ago this would have appeared like a laughable fantasy to Fedfans.

Nadal has now been ranked in the Top 10 of the ATP rankings non-stop for 17 years.

He first broke into the Top 10 as an 18-year-old on April 25th, 2005, rising from No. 11 to No. 7 after winning the first of his now-12 career titles in Barcelona. And despite all of his injuries over the years—he’s missed two Australian Opens, three Wimbledons and four US Opens since then—he’s never left the Top 10, not even for a week.

Today, a 35-year-old Nadal is ranked No. 4.

He’s held the record for longest Top 10 streak in ATP rankings history since November 2020, when he surpassed Jimmy Connors’ previous record of just over 15 years.

MOST CONSECUTIVE WEEKS IN TOP 10 IN ATP RANKINGS HISTORY (incl. this week):

619 weeks: Ivan Lendl (1980-1992)
565 weeks: Pete Sampras (1990-2001)

Nadal’s weeks in the above chart do not include the 22 weeks the ATP rankings were frozen between March and August in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Remember when Connors' streak was considered mythical and unmatchable?

@GabeT why did you feel it was necessary to remove my posts but kept the one about Monica Puig. Posts where I talked about my time in Chile, Argentina....and the age difference between Rios and Delpo and their popularity in Latam and hence the world, have been removed.

Did you do this to make my arguments and posts incoherent? Or to make yours smarter?

If you are a mod or have direct access to mods, it's not the way to win a debate.

Great example from a Djokovic fan.

And it's not the first time I have seen Djokovic fans do this in a thread.

It seems a few of them have better access to mods, and can simply delete from a thread the posts they don't like or make their arguments weak.

Making their arguments look stronger, even in questionable ways, means a lot to them apparently.

Guess who broke his record? It takes the GOAT to do it. Just like they thought Borg's RG record would last forever and Nadal has more than doubled it.
The GOAT is Djokovic - every single stat proves. And deep down inside you know and it’s eating you
