Universal City, CA week of January 26th?

Midlife crisis

Hall of Fame
I'm down there Sunday evening through Thursday morning. I'll have most evenings free, and am playing about a 4.5 level right now. Anyone want to arrange a hitting session or two?

ohbh, sorry to miss you when you were up here. The snow was pretty impressive, wasn't it? I ended up having to drive my son through all that weather 60 miles round trip three times for a tennis tournament. I was glad when he lost in the quarters!

Oh, and yes, this is the Universal Studios area. I won't have transportation so it'll be taxi time.

DNShade, any hit-together would be great.

Definitely lots of snow. I shoveled my parents' driveway
and made this:

That's a cool pic. I had to clear our driveway three or four times and I made one big, packed down mound of snow about five feet high and way more than big around. The last of it just melted away two days ago.

Are there courts around there or will I need to go fairly far to play? If so, I might rent a car.

Thanks.

Welcome to SoCal...

Have not played and I have absolutely no game right now but the whole gang is due to get together again... especially this time to meet another cool member on the forum.

Onehand, do you know where there are good lights in the area?

Burbank tennis center has courts w/good lights. I think
it costs about $17? per hour and you have to reserve in
advance to make sure you get a court.

There are also some courts at N. Hollywood park that
are public, free & lit. Lights aren't too bad as far as
public courts go.

My vote is Burbank Tennis Center unless anyone wants to come over the hill to UCLA. Burbank has great lights, good surface, and even clay courts if we want to get our dirtball on. Let me know.

Burbank tennis center sounds like a winner. Maybe if there are enough people, we can reserve a couple of hours?

Being an absolute idiot, I've just signed up for a tournament that I won last year, but I've played maybe 20% as much as last year too. I'd better get some practicing in!

Contact me at tennis_midlife_crisis@live.com and we can exchange contact info. Thanks, all.

How difficult is it to get a tennis racquet through the Burbank airport? I think I'll just restring before I come and bring just one bare racquet, so it'll just be a part of my carry-on luggage.

Change in plans

Last minute change in plans - I won't be down in Universal City next week. Thanks for all of the offers to play, and maybe we can pick this up the next time I'm down there.
