Good night, Sir
Ken Rosewall is missing. You should add his name to the poll.
Otherwise, BobbyOne will be whining all night long.
i both like federer and respects nadal for their unique record achievement
nadal has three unqiue records listed below
1) 8 french open titles (first male player to win the same slam 8 timesm surpassing sampras and federer 7 wimbeldon titles)
2) 8-0 in french open finals (surpassing 7-0 sampras wimbeldon final record)
3) winning atleast one slam for 9 consecutive years (surpassing 8 consecutive years record by brog, sampras and federer)
for complete list visit
where as federer has many unique records
1) 17 slams/ 24 slams finals
2) 7 consecutive wimbledon finals and total 8 wimbledon finals
3) No. 1 for 237 consecutive weeks
4) 5 consecutive US Open
for complete list visit
Federer still has a 9 vote cushion over Nadal, Djokovic and Murray put together. That puts to rest who the fan favorite player is.
^ Its called a BANDWAGON. However, its impressive that they are sticking with the sinking/sunken ship (either that or they don't follow tennis much.....as is the case with many bandwagoners).
That's what being a Fan means. You stand by the player you support, in good times & in bad. Why should the Fed fans stop supporting him just because he's declining? Everyone does!
I think you're the one who is a bandwagoner then, if you don't understand what being a true supporter means.
There's no denying the fact that Federer is the most followed/supported tennis player in the history of this game. Rafa comes second, & there's no shame in accepting this.
I voted for Djokovic but it's a split tie for me between Djoko Murray and Hewitt.
The reason why I'm surprised Federer still has fans, is because a lot Federer's fans post hateful/ungrateful comments about.....Federer. A lot of fair-weather fans in the Federer fan base. When he's losing, they post horrible stuff about him. Whereas Nadal fans are much more respectful of Nadal when Nadal is losing. I for example NEVER criticize Nadal EVER.
When people new to tennis look for a favorite player, Federer is/was always the easy choice to support, because he is always playing (never misses a slam), and he's got the slam record. Nadal was never the easy choice, because if you are fan of Nadal you aren't sure if he will play in the next slam event, and you are hearing the media predicting early retirement and things like that. So I'm the opposite of the bandwagoner. The badwagoner does not choose Nadal. If you are Nadal fan, you are most likely a genuine Nadal fan.
While I am a Federer Fan and think he's one of the absolute GOAT; my favorite player at present is Gael Monfils. Because after a match, for the most part he's smiling. He reminds me that tennis is fun. It's not life or death. And while he may never will a Slam, he looks like he's having a good time on and off the court.
lol, please provide some evidence. If this is true then I would like to see it.
He has already got most of his fans pre 09.
Anyway I agree that you are the greatest fan of all time.
^ Just in the match threads of Federer's losses, very negative talk about Federer. Some even asking him to retire.
Currently Fed has more votes than Nadal, Djokovic, Murray and Del Potro put together.
YOU doesn't count as SOME.
Good point. It's not natural to be a Rafa fan. People need to force themselves to look passed gamesmanship, wasting, and his antics.
It takes more mental tougness to be a Rafa fan .
90: 40 at the top. Strange that most of the murray fans I know on this forum have not voted.
According to the poll, RFederer has more fans than all the other members of Big 4 combined
I am the Wayne Gretzky of the poll...#99 for SirSexi!
I said Federer fans ask Federer to retire. Not me. As we all know, the longer Federer plays the better it is for Nadal. Even in 2014 we see Federer has a 2-1 record vs Djokovic (and Djokovic's only win over Federer was a 3rd set tie-breaker).
Yep. Its called a bandwagon. He's the easy option if you are new to tennis, because you can instantly brag about the 17 slams upon being a Federer fan
Separate names with a comma.
