Until Djokovic faces (on paper) legitimate opponents I wouldn't put my money on him winning the US Open

Djokovic wins a match vs a journeyman = HE'LL WIN THE TITLE.

It takes more than that to convince me, Alcaraz is the defending champion at the US Open, Alcaraz beat Djokovic in a best of 5 match at the last Grand Slam.

The last time Djokovic won the US Open was in 2018!!

Medvedev was the last person to play Djokovic, at the US Open final of 2021 in which Djokovic lost in straight sets! Like Shaggy from Scooby Doo, Medvedev is still there lurking in the background of the draw.

There are some people still paying off the mortgages they took to attend that US Open 2021 Final and watch Djokovic lift the trophy

There is a big chance he'd not have to face a legitimate opponent at all.

In the strongest stretch, 2011-16, of all, Djokovic led Nadal, Murray, Wawrinka, Cilic and Federer 11-5-3-3-1-1.

It certainly didn't look easy for Novak back then. But now we can say he took care of business.
Yes, he lost the WB final. He came back to win the USO, WTF, Cincy, and Paris. Those four titles alone can be a very decent career for a player.
Yes, Alcaraz won the WB. But it was his last title of 2023.
Yes, Med was lurking around ... to send Alcaraz home. And Novak had a straight set revenge against Med in the final. Couldn't ask for more as a Novak fan.

Can you imagine those mortgages people took to watch 2019 Wimbledon final? And at one point...they thought it was worth it ;)

It's now very clear the wind was a major factor in the Wimbledon final
