up next for rafa: philipp kohlschreiber

Maybe you should look at my posts bit better.
And btw, I am no **** - I am a fan, and as such, able to give the opponent the credits he deserves.

Rafa breaks, match is over now, I think. Good attempt, Kohli, close but no cigar!

I went through some of your posts but didn't see in which you were rooting for Rafa but like i said you don't have to.Not starting an argument here.

Peace.

So you don't consider stupid shot selection as choking? How about a DF in 0-30?

Well I wouldn't call a DF a case of 'poor shot selection', LOL!
And that break didn't come completely out of the blue - he had been struggling to hold serve before.

Rafa is just the better player. A lot of players can keep him on the ropes for a set, but actually winning against him is a complete different story - Rafa will always up his game level, whereas the player playing-out-of-his-mind for that set, is bound to lose it.

Most of the time. That's one of the main qualities of a genuine Top Player.

That's not what I meant, I meant the poor dropshot attempt when Nadal was inside the court and in the same direction of the DS.

I like what I'm seeing from PK, he keeps fighting. He will lose now but still, he gives it his all. Great attitude.

isn't that what they said when rafa played andy at wimbledon?

That was grass dude, on which Nadal plays MUCH better. Still the match was VERY close and could have swung in the 2nd set TB. In fact had the same match been played on a hardcourt, we might have had a different outcome (or a 4/5 setter at the very least). Murray has the edge over Nadal on hardcourts because of matchup reasons.

Well, Nadal plays a horrible match and still gets the win. If he plays like that against Murray, he'll get creamed.

rafa holds at love and totally breaks the poor german's spirit to take the match 3-6, 6-3, 6-4..

well done, mallorcan!

vamos!

peace

wow, kohly was amazing - nadal not so!! but here's where experience takes hold. and that's why rafa's where he is

what a nail-biter.....:)

You are so funny. Nadal didn't play a horrible match by any means. He had more winners than errors and he served 67% 1st serves in. PK is a tough opponent and you don't give him credit at all.

Nadal had a shaky first set, but since the 2nd he played much, much better, and in the 3rd was already back to himself completely.

It's amazing how well PK did considering his BH and serve totally deserted him in the 3rd.

Yeah, PK was a great opponent and competitor. Excellent match. Congratulations to both players.

These are the kinds of posts I like to see. Respect for the loser and giving him credits. :D

As for Rafa - of course, a much, much better performance from him in set #2 and #3 and I think that had a lot to do with him becoming a lot more aggressive (and not so far from the baseline anymore when recieving) in those sets than he was in the 1st. He will surely have to play the same way against Murray tomorrow.

Well, at least Nadal will get additional SF points with this win. Definitely, once again he's top 4 in the world on HC.

Mun mode on:

Nadal played the best match of his life and barely beat a PK playing at 15% of his ability.

Mun mode off. :-)
