Upcoming Goals for Djokovic ....

OG is something which has been pumped by the establishment & Nole who behaves cringe with his obsession, but in reality nothing can be pumped by just marketing it, you need to provide quality to the tournament, that is lacking. When we have slams then who will care for a worthless exhibition ? Tennis infact is an exhibition at the olympics, unlike the swimmers/sprinters/gymnasts etc etc who are there for the real deal after preparing 4 years for it. However Tennis doesnt have anybody preparing 4 years for the olympics, the tennis tourney is more of an exhibition of tennis skills by the top players there.

At the GOAT level only Slams, H2H & Rank 1 Stats matter, everything else is just not relevant and surprisingly the Olympics has 0 points in the calendar years and is BO3..... that explains it.....
Correction. Next new athletes are coming up and he has 1 year now not couple of years.

Alcaraz was 2 years behind full time number 1 at the start of this year. In 2025 Jan, he will be 21 and 3 quarters. Same with rune. And sinner is already 22. Nole can win a couple of slams next year and 1 more in 2025 according to me. Let's see.

I agree with you. For sports like tennis Olympics is about the spirit of participation and representing your country and flag with pride. You are the ambassador for your country on a global stage shared with elite athletes from every sport. Djokovic is just too nationalistic and wants to endear himself up Serbians worldwide. It is almost unhealthy. But he is stubborn which is also why he has accomplished what he has, so I guess never say never. I reckon he will run for public office at some point also.

Yeah, he could be the president of Serbia in the distant future in his 50s, entirely possible.

2025 will definitely be a hard year, Alcaraz will be 22, Rune will be 22, Ben Shelton will be 22, Sinner will be 23.5-24ish.... Or it could still be same as 2023 if the field does not improve their skills a lot in 2 years time. Unlikely, but who knows.

12 months from now we will get a clearer picture of what is in store for in 2025.

Watch them closely in next 12 months, year from now and Novak will be on the top. These numbers will be changing weekly, and I'll be here to bump this thread up when it's done, it's inevitable...
Just after two months... ;)
Roger 318 (-6)
Novak 221 (+21)
Tried to insert new table but couldn't...

The field especially sinner has leaped past their performance last year. We will see for the rest.

Ooh guys, i understand the sentiment, trust me! But Olympic Gold is something, that is missing from Novak's resume, for the sake of completion it's the only thing left to be collected for otherwise perfect Nole's trophy cabinet! Nobody says importance of olympic tournament is great, but in the context of Novak's achievements specifically it is as important as everything else worth of note! No matter how you try to downplay the importance of olympic tournament in tennis, at least you have to admit it is more important than your regular ATp250/500 event, even though those are ranked and have prize money!...Winning olympic gold will make Novak the only person to achieve the ultra rare Career Super Slam, which is something only Agassi has at the moment! And when you put in the context of other 14 elite tournaments, all of which Novak also has won it will make Novak the sole owner of all 15 coveted and highly regarded events in tennis!...For someone else Olympic Tournament is just an average event, that doesn't really matter all that much, but in the context of Novak's achievements the importance skyrockets, because it's the only thing he is missing!

Super Slam is a fan created term.
In reality Sampras even without French open was considered greater than Agassi ...... in this era CGS/DCGS/TCGS are paid more attention to, so we can say winning all slams is important but Olympics ? It it not that vital, sure it is missing from his cabinet and if he wins then good, but if he doesnt then it should not matter. The problem is if Novak makes the OIympics a big deal and talks about it then he will be trolled when he fails to win it.

He has a medal -:)…good enough. Yellow metal is not mandatory!

RF has more majors than ND at 2 of the 4.
RN has more majors than ND at 2 of the 4.

RF has more majors than RN at 3 of the 4.

Ultimately majors are what is important. What does this tell us ?
Even at the time this was written, the converse was also true, i.e.:

ND has more majors than RF at 2 of the 4.
ND has more majors than RN at 2 of the 4.

Only in 2023 he have achieved almost half of these records which is insane-records 2,3,6,7,10,11 and 14 have already been achieved.
I say apart from record 15 and 16 all others are pretty achievable.

It's not a tie for Novak on 14th! He now has longer span with 13 years separating his 1st YE#1 and his most recent! Nadal has only 12!...13 years span includes the year, which started it, same for Nadal's 12...2008 is the year, that started Nadal's span and 2019 is the year, that ended it, for Novak 2011 is the year, that started his span and 2023 is the current and most recent year! So year longer than Nadal!...

I think of the ones, that still remain he will do 1st and 8th simultaneously and probably 13th too (yes i still think grand slam title is still on the cards for Novak even in 2025 as crazy as it may sound for some TTW members here...), the rest ranges from unobtainable to tricky to pull off! Like you said CYGS is out of questions now and i don't really think he will be winning slams in 2027 in singles LOL, cuz that's just nuts! Connors' record of 109 open era titles is something like 40/60, less likely than more likely let's call it that, i also agree on 8th Wimbledon, probably not gonna happen at this point, as for beating Alcaraz, Sinner or Rune (i don't understand why you insist on including him in this group, considering his most recent questionable results, but whatever...), i think he'll be beating Rune in slams, but he still has to crack the formula beating Sinner and Alcaraz in BO5, last time it didn't go well, lot's of adjustments need to be made, maybe this recent olympic victory will help or maybe no...time will tell, i personally wouldn't completely rule out victory against either one of the or both, but it's a coin toss really...

When I made this list then I had some hopes on Rune, that view has changed, today he looks like a complete mug with no future.

Connors record is possible IMO because Novak now will have to play some 250s too as it is not possible for him to target all the big tournaments all year, so he will need little points too and he can obviously win 250s till he is 40, so he can go past connors I think. It is not impossible if he puts his mind to it, he said he isn't retiring anytime soon.

So finally we are at the end of the road.

So now we know that Djokovic won't be winning Number 25. He wont be winning an 8th Wimbledon, he wont be breaking Rosewall's record for the oldest slam winner.... Maybe he could break Connors' record if he plays a lot of 250s from now but that is unikely.

Sinner and Alcaraz have a very firm grip on the tour, especially Sinner.

24 seems to be the final mark @Hitman @TennisGrandpA @BorgTheGOAT @Martin J @Kralingen @Rafa4LifeEver

It looks that way now.

Well , he certainly won’t win RG or Wimbledon but he definitely has chance at UsO or AO because Carlos is not gonna stop him there and if Sinner gets upset or gets injured Novak will have his chances , he’s still making semis

A 25th win at the AO would be good but for that Sinner has to miss that tournament. USO seems unlikely anyway, he is skipping Cincinnati...

I wouldn't 100% rule out a 25th slam, but right now, it doesn't look likely anywhere. He will need the draw to breakdown, plus he is only getting older.

He must avoid Alcaraz and Sinner, not have a day off (which is so typical for a player at his age) and stay injury free, which is, again, very challenging at this stage of his career. I wouldn't say without chances, but they are very, very slim.

AO is his bread and butter, his 1st slam is always best chance to win the last, same as Fedal whose W and FO were where they reached the final the last.

TTW Scholars and Pundits will tell you that Novak's best chance is at W but such nonsense does not manifest in real life because Wimbledon is always a young man's turf, no old fart can win there in their 30s in the presence of great youngsters, Federer won in 2017, Djoko won many times after that, all this happened because a true vacuum of 1990s gen being abject losers existed. Why else would Kevin Anderson and Cilic make the finals of W so late in their careers? Even guys like Nadal who were getting out in 1st week for most part of the 2010s found second wind in 2018-2019. All this was because of a true vacuum. Now that vacuum is filled by Alcaraz and Sinner, so 0 chance there.

Either it is on HCs or it is never happening.

The way I see it, his chances are very slim no matter where he plays, a few percent here or there doesn't change it that much.

At AO this year, his body broke down, it wasn't even a loss to Sinner or Alcaraz, he simply couldn't play seven matches.

He will be fresh next year for the AO, his body has to hold. Plus he should be skipping the clay season too, pointless to grind there.

He still can beat Raz on HC, the only one he needs to avoid at any cost is Sinner. But it'd be better for him to face Raz in a final, as he likely wouldn't have anything left in the tank afterwards.

1. Slamless season (2024) CHECK
2. 2nd Slamless season (2025) ONGOING
3. Retire
slams are not everything and only what matter. even in those seasons thats are very bad by his standards he accomplished some very special stuffs. last season he completed tennis winning OG. this season he won his 100th title and his 100th win at RG and W.

This will never happen but he should go all out for MC to win the triple M1000 sweep, surely a record that will never be repeated. Everyone is crap at MC so if he can somehow pull together his form for there eg by dropping Miami to train there for an extended period of time, he has a shot of winning it

It has been said many times that no tennis player aged 38 or older will ever win a Major tournament; it is physically impossible for a player of that age to achieve this.
