I'm trying to respond meaningfully to this, but I'm sort of unsure what you mean.

I spelled it out! I thought it a little bit of a stretch that Roger lost out on winning 2 extra USO titles due to Nole "stealing" those USO SF's in '10 & '11! I was agreeing with the comment that he choked them away & even if he had made both finals, there was no assuredness that he'd win over the player that literally owned him @ the time! :p ;)

I'm so sorry, I thought it was obvious that I was referring to the 3 Djokovic-Fed finals in 2014/15.

That was you, just agreeing with post:

You made me rethink. I'm salty over him robbing Fed of another 3 GS.

I completely disagree that Novak "robbed" Fed of three slams. Fed choked away those matches, just as he choked away the successive USO semis where he held a total of four MP's against Djoker. How can anyone say Novak robbed Fed of the 2014 Wimbledon final, when Fed held a BP in the fifth set and completely choked on an easy ball? Had he made that, he would have served for the match. And the 2015 USO final was one of Roger's more epic chokes, when he squandered something like 20 BP's.

There was no "robbery" involved in these matches, Fed mentally wilted during the big points. Blame Roger, not Novak, for these cringe worthy big match performances.

I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone unless I'm even more confused than you! :p ;)

Got it, I understand now. I think. Lol

UNIQLO is Japanese, so I'm not sure what that has to do with it. Would someone being sponsored by Lacoste make them popular in the UK?

'Asia-Pacific' is a region for a reason lol. Also worth noting that Novak is sponsored by Seiko, the Japanese watch giant. Why/how it happened, not totally sure, but he really has a big following/brand image in the Asia-Pacific region. Perhaps all his success at the AO has something to do with it, as that is really the Slam for Asia-Pacific.

Neighbors are as likely to be rivals as allies. Europe is also "a region for a reason," but a tennis player being sponsored by a French company would not be a good reason to explain his/her popularity in Germany. No doubt the UNIQLO and Seiko sponsorships might make Djokovic popular in Japan.

Here's the thing though, outside of Federer the top guys are breaking down.

We talk about the age limit being pushed, but that's more about Fed than the other guys at this point.

The current tour is on average the oldest in the Open Era and Nadal recently had one of his most domintant seasons at 31 so I wouldn't say it's just Fed even though he stands out.

We'll see whether I'm right about Novak. I see him contending for big titles and reaching #1 again in the future.

you are bad karma man. how can you be so negative. look at del potro.

Just a gut feeling, mostly came about because of Novak's negative posture and attitude, in the court and out. That and him coming back prematurely. He's ready, he's not, he's sure to be ready again?

If I were him I wouldn't be putting out 100% positive comments right now, especially since he just botched his latest comeback.

Be a bit more cautious in your comments. And let your next results speak for itself.

funny how he can't even get his own story straight...

I’ve been carrying this injury for the past two years, and during this time I’ve been seeing many doctors. Truth be told, there were many different opinions, different diagnoses, different suggestions... It was not easy for me to choose which way to go and what to do.

“All the doctors I’ve consulted, and all the specialists I have visited in Serbia and all over the world, have agreed that this injury requires rest,” Djokovic said. “A prolonged break from the sport is inevitable. I’ll do whatever it takes to recover.”
