Now that the draw is out on the tourney web site, does anyone care to take a stab at calling any upsets in the first couple rounds or comment on any other interesting match ups.

How about Fish over Federer, NOT!!

How about Stepanek over Federer, no - don't think so. But that is a couple of tough matches. And then, once again in '05, Fed vs. Luby. Yummy!

Ironic that Lubicic will probably play Ancic in 3rd round.

I'll take Labadze over Bjorkman as he seemed to like the desert last year.

Mirnyi v. Malisse, tough to call, i'll go with Malisse and then take the X-Man over Gaudio. No clay in the desert.

Donald Young may get his first win, as he faces a Q yet to be determined.

I'll take Melzer over Henman, a longshot, but Jurgen is dangerous.

How bout Monfils over Robredo? Not quite yet.

Kutnetzov over Shuettler, that would be pretty cool for young Alex and for USA tennis in general, but, once again - longshot.

Bottom Half: Moya v Ferrero, I'm going with a resurgent JCF. But look for the towering swede, Joachim to come through that section.

Blake vs Gonzo: Anybody got a coin i can flip? Go James!!

Roddick vs. JJohanson: Arod doesn't seem to be winning a lot lately, but that doesn't mean that I'm not rooting for him. Andy 7-6, 7-6.

Hewitt vs. Hrbaty: Once again, coin please, and some popcorn. OK fine, Hewitt in 3.

Spadiator and Haasinator: Gotta got with the single BH and bigger serve.

Gotta go with Andre over Pavel and then a real fun one: AA vs Coria (or Pdorn): No clay in the desert, maybe wishful thinking but GO ANDRE!!! Get a good title or two in your last year.

Coria v Srichaphan: Pdorn's gonna take it.

Will Flipper beat a qualifier?

So many questions, lots of fun tennis. I'll be there, with beers on.

And to anyone that actually read this whole, long winded rant, i hope you found it entertaining.

Looking at the draw I think it's quite possible for Tim to do well, afterall he only has Federer and Safin in his side ;)

My pick for the title is Mr Joachim Johansson.

GONZO VS BLAKE. What a match in prospect. If these guys trade forehand rallies, they might have to change the ball after every game.

Joachim got a nice draw, federer's is normal, Gaudio got a slightly hard draw, Moya got a hard draw, Roddick got a hard draw, Hewitt got a normal draw, Agassi got a good draw, Coria got a normal draw, Henman got a great draw, and Safin got a normal draw!

My pick for the title is a long shot guess who Roger Federer. OK, not funny, but he is THE MAN right now.

I hope Hewitt advances, he's fun as hell to watch! Doubt they will show his early rounders.

I actually think they will show his first round match if Ginepri wins his first match. Ginepri played Hewitt in the quarterfinals back in 2003 at Indian Wells. Should be good.

Word :) (message too short my ass)

Coria v Srichaphan: Pdorn's gonna take it.

I don't think so.Guillermo is recovering from and injury and getting better each day.I saw both matches ,in the davis cup, against Berdych and other czeck guy and he was really amazing.he's been really improving his serve a lot, making a lot of aces.i saw him hitting some nice 210 km/h serves!!Nalbandian also was in good shape both in singles and doubles matches
so personally i think he shouldn't have any problem to beat paradorn(although paradorn beat him in rotterdam, i think.Coria was starting to recover from his leg injury)

Are you serious?

Federer's draw is "normal"? The first couple of rounds are ok, but after that it's pretty nasty: prospective 4th/qtr/semi of Ljubicic/Nalbandian/Safin. Ancic and Berdych are also tucked in there. It can't be much worse for him I wouldn't think.

And Roddick got a "hard" draw? The only difficulty I can see there before Hewitt is Johansson, possibly Gonzalez if he had a particuarly good day.

I truly don't believe the draws are rigged, but I am still waiting to see Roddick get a tough one.

Rhubarb you summed up my thoughts perfectly. Roddick's draw looks easy with the exception of Johansson in his quarter. Their H2H is 1:1, so it's hard to tell. I am also still waiting to see Roddick get a tough draw. (Why couldn't Roddick get Ljubicic in his section?)

Facing Ljubicic yet again within his section is a tough draw for Federer. Safin's quarter looks easy for him, unless he is blotto......and I doubt that. He lost the first round in Dubai to Keifer. That gave him a chance to rest up and regroup. He should now be highly motivated to do well.

Federer is a damn genius. He got no special treatment. Everything's so hard for him. Really... Worry on.
As Federer said, "Don't feel sorry for me..."
Safin is so difficult. Crashing out in Indian Wells several times means nothing.
Ljubicic belongs among the elite now. He will rule the world. I love him so much after the Davis Cup.
Roddick sucks. Therefore, he got an advantage over Federer. I didn't believe in draw rigging, but you know...I'm 2-faced. Everything is a conspiracy. wahhhhh
