Still more decisions to be made, though:

NEW YORK (AFP) - US Davis Cup captain Patrick McEnroe kept his options open as he named five players to travel to the World Group playoff tie in Belgium September 23-25.

Heading the line-up is world No. 3 Andy Roddick, who was shocked in the first round of the US Open last week by Luxembourg's Gilles Muller.

Also included are James Blake and Robby Ginepri, who were both still battling in the quarter-finals of the final Grand Slam of the year.

Blake, 25, and 23-year-old Ginepri both made it to their first Grand Slam quarter-finals at Flushing Meadows to stake their claims to Davis Cup berths.

Blake has an 8-3 overall record in Davis Cup, having represented the United States in five ties from 2001-03. He owns a 13-2 record on clay this year.

Ginepri is undefeated in two Davis Cup singles matches, helping the United States to a 5-0 sweep of Austria in the first round last year.

Roddick has 15-6 Davis Cup singles record since joining the team in 2001.

McEnroe will also take the doubles duo of Bob and Mike Bryan, and narrow down his team for the best-of-five match tie when he gets there.

Belgium will stage the playoff on an indoor red clay court at the Sportplace in Leuven. The Americans will be fighting to stay in the elite 16-team World Group, while Belgium are battling for promotion from zonal play.

US veteran Andre Agassi, who returned to Davis Cup for the first time since 2000 in America's first-round defeat by Croatia in Los Angeles, had already said he didn't expect to be selected for a claycourt clash.

Apparently Malisse will not be playing due to an issue with the Belgian tennis federation.

It would be cool to see Rocus brothers against Bryan twins. I think the dwarfs could take out the giants.
