Hardest draw EVER.

Could get harder...

Props to Youzhny, he knew after the first 6 games that he had no chance to beat Djokovic so he decided to retire and screw his chances for the tournament. Good guy Mischa.

Sometimes I feel players are paid off to retire. What a coincidence Novak plays and looks like crap his first round and then his opponent withdraws in the second round. Why not just walk over to the final then? Then this in the third round? Corruption at it's finest.

Pity it ended this way and so quickly as well. Novak looked more comfortable and there were some nice points from both.

The tin foil must run out quickly at your house.

Djokovic taking over Federer's 2010 Cincinnati draw:

Fed also played a guy who tried to be no 1 in 2006 and a fish in the final.
good so this confirms Real Slam is as prestigious as USO...good work t_p! Fedr HC and overall GOAT confirmed!

Actually I know a few players on the tour who have been offered money by the mob to deliberately lose. I bet the money to gain is even bigger on these types of matches. Don't act like it doesn't happen because it very well does. I'm not saying it happened here but it is questionable.

Look at it this way: still an opportunity to pound Nadal into submission for like the bazillionth time in a row... and then watch Stan get 3/4s of the way to the career slam? :)

Djokovic is so lucky.

"I tried everything I could last night, also today – painkillers, treatment, rest, so forth, warm-up, until the very end – but I just can't compete at this level with Novak."

We don't know yet if it will work for him or against him. It worked against him at RG 2011.
Not getting into any rhythm. (But freshness will be top to go 5 against the tree :D)

Well at least this time he does not have the crazy pressure of that insane streak and God Mode Federer playing the match of his life on clay.

Everyone is scared stiff of Novak. They start feeling faint as soon as he walks onto the court. That's the heavyweight champion of the world effect :)

This 2 sessions thing that the US Open has is rubbish, no tennis on the main court now for over 2 hours.

It will be 2 in the morning where I am before I get to watch any night session tennis.

Novak better get some more material ready if this continues

As much as I'd love to see him win, he had trouble with a guy I've never even heard of last night. So unless he really picks it up, I don't see him making it past the Quarters.

Feel sorry for Youzhny. He beat Klizan and Pella 2, 1, 1, 2, 1, 6 for crying out loud.
Mixed feeling for Novak's draw. Lack of play can hurt him.
