Even if Novak is not at his best now, you just feel Lopez won't take full advantage of that. His only chance will be TB, I think. He'd better maintain the good rhythm with his serving.

Novak after Lopez's serve:

Same as his wifes serve of microwaved meals

He plays best when he's interested.

He is not interested.

True for all players and one of the things (far more than "physical decline") that has killed the careers of plenty of players in their late 20s or early 30s: they gradually don't care so much if they win the first round in Hertogenbosch or Houston and eventually they have trouble motivating themselves as much as before the quarters of the US Open, and that's ultimately a killer. Djokovic is better than most at forcing something out of himself even when he can't really be bothered.

Just tuned in after Colbert. What a volley!

Edit: and by that I mean 'pickup'. Not a smooth transition from late night to tennis.

Why d'you say that?
The guy's world number 1, you know. He is also known to get on well with the NY crowd. They've been chanting for every one of his opponents, most of whom no one ever chants for otherwise.
It's not so much the Lopez chants, he's great to watch. It's the absolute lack of vocal support for Djokovic.

I know what you mean, but he's regularly against the crowd. He seems to rub a lot of people the wrong way, or maybe they just aren't into him. Either way, he probably deserves some more support but hey, I'm sure he sleeps at night.

Wish Djoko and his fans would stop crying about his lack of love from the crowd. Dudes like a 9 slam champ or something like that. That not enough for you?
