He's also 8 years older than he was then. Quite clear in his movement and play.if he can take a set off prime fed playing at this level ( 2007 ), he sure as hell can take a set from djoko, who's a clearly inferior fast HCer to federer ...
Ha ha I jinxed it.Huh????? Why????![]()
I know what you mean, but it is overall for his level this yearif he can take a set off prime fed playing at this level ( 2007 ), he sure as hell can take a set from djoko, who's a clearly inferior fast HCer to federer ...
I agree Stan isn't as good on these courts as the Australian and French. However I still think he can win a U.S Open based on his 2013 performance here. With Djokovic and Federer not looking super great, it increases his chances.
I also think if he had match points vs Federer at the WTF (not super fast, but not much slower than here which is also not super fast) where he was playing pretty badly and got 2 games vs Djokovic, he could beat him here.
Djokovic especialy would be vurnerable to Stan if he reaches the final, losing sets to people like Agut and Lopez. I know Stan is losing sets to some weakish people too, but it is different from him than it is from super consistent machine Djokovic. It shouldn't be happening.
Yeah, Novak'd better serve better. He won't break Feli at will like Agut.Lopez 10 aces; Djokovic 1 thus far.
Pretty sure that will be daytime match, but only 79F Friday, so won't be playing as fast as earlier today for Cilic when 94F. But if Lopez comes close tonight, why not Cilic? The question is: can Cilic defeat Djoko here? Does he stand a chance, if he serves aces all over?
I honestly don't know.
I know what you mean, but it is overall for his level this year
On grass he looked like a shadow of himself, at the Australian open he got so lucky in the Mannarino match and yet managed to beat Janowicz next round.
Here again, lucky in the Fish match. And then Raonic couldn't move he was playing at 50% of his abilities.
I have nothing against him but it really surprise me to see him here but I guess I was wrong since he won (at least) a set vs Djoko.
Agreed. Stan has his hands full tomorrow. He will donate a game or two and you can't do that against Anderson with his current form. The problem I see with Wawrinka is the speed of the court (and faster conditions overall, compared to AO/FO). He needs more time to setup himself optimally for his shots, especially the backhand (his long back-swing), and if someone can exploit that - it's Federer. He can play fast enough to have Stan on the run most of the time (on a faster court) and I believe that could be the case.
Not possible. Djokovic has 2 games already.Come on Novak! I'm still hungry for that bagel!!
Yep, so frustrating.Wish Nole would let up on all the HC tournaments before the USO. Seems like every year his level is not what it SHOULD Be at Flushing. Its cost him some USO titles too. 1 USO title is not good for someone the caliber of Nole on HC's
Why do you care? If Djokovic had won more USOs, Nadal would be at 12 Slams.Wish Nole would let up on all the HC tournaments before the USO. Seems like every year his level is not what it SHOULD Be at Flushing. Its cost him some USO titles too
Yes I confess I missed that match so I didn't see how good he looked there.fair enough, but he's still #18 in the world ...
he took out fognini in straights also, didn't he ?
I agree, I was surprised with his record against Anderson - Kevin owns him lately (four matches in a row) and has a positive H2H. Stan is not a great returner, so he'll have full hands of job tomorrow.Agreed. Stan has his hands full tomorrow. He will donate a game or two and you can't do that against Anderson with his current form.
