Isner has still only been bageled once in his career and only that was after he had finnished the longest match ever the previous day.

The TrumpBot is out of gas.

Nadal's path now looking like Thiem, Del Potro, Djokovic and we know Thiem is going to be taking big cuts at the ball, he knows no other way. How much in those legs of Nadal, after those punishing last few matches?
Nadal always seems to recover. Nothing can tire him out.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen him visibly tired on the court.

Please get this servebot match finished ASAP. I have no idea why anyone would pay to see these 2 guys. I want anyone that isn't a servebot to win. The hell with Roger's record.

It's easy to forget that del Potro is 4 years younger than Isner. Isner looks young for his age, and Delpo looks about 40.

Hamburg 07, Madrid 09, USO 08, Chennai 08
In addition to those he does get tired in a LOT of other matches.
The typical thing that happens is that his balls start to land even shorter and his movement is not as sharp.
He starts missing easy neutral shots, especially on backhand where he gets to the ball late.
This happens a lot against Djokovic, since the Serb makes Nadal run a LOT.

Draw from hell for Rafa. Even at his best, he would have difficulty with such a lineup.
Now, with his current form, not much chance. 1-2-3 punch and then the coupe de grace - knockout delivered by Nole.

Yes, I am aware of this. I am just giving the obvious examples.

Most of the fall season, Nadal looks half dead over the course of his career

I hope Delpo's body doesn't break down for another major SF  Legs gave way in both of his last major SFs, with another possible grind fest against Rafa waiting in the next round in this heat and humidity, I do not like his chances. His first week matches were quite quick though and it's not like he's had to expend a tremendous amount of energy in this 3 plus hour match.

Could have been worse if Cilic was his quarter final opponent, but Thiem is going to make him run with all that heavy sledgehammer hitting.

I agree. Nadal is no superman like people make him out to be. His problem is that his playing style is just not efficient and so it is taxing.
His technique is very very unorthodox. His forehand takes so much effort (and sometimes for so little result). Even the backhand looks weird. The follow-through, footwork - he almost seems to muscle the ball.
But yeah, he has 17 slams, so what do we know, although I suspect the slams are more due to his competitive spirit and fight, as opposed to his technique.
