Patented Federer closing skills on display
We get it, you not rooting for Fed.Enjoy your win over Nagal, Fed. Not much more to enjoy for you at this USO. Maybe one more match.
The mighty fat does it againOne last troll from Fed before he bits us adieu.
2:30 for a first round match against a qualifier isn't ideal.
Right. We get it, you not rooting for Fed.
HilariousFederer actually converted match point lol.
"NO"
Hilarious
I agree, I liked Nagal this match, but 2:30 is way too long for a first round.A very inspired qualifier.
Yep, that’s long. Federer’s 5 setter against Tiafoe here was 2:36 iirc.I agree, I liked Nagal this match, but 2:30 is way too long for a first round.
Classic Bradimean it was such a silly question.

Thanks for your support.57 UEs? That’s just ugly. Grandpa needs to play better.
Thanks for your support.
God could you imagine one of the top guys actually giving an answer like that for oncei'm petty because i would have been like no, because if i thought that way given my recent record against him since 2015 i might actually been more relaxed
Could be in trouble regardless of who he plays at this point...Federer looked haggard tonight. Will need to improve about 5 levels to make a run for this title. Good thing he didn't draw someone more dangerous or he would have been in trouble.

This match looked a lot worse for many reasons. But at his age it is a day to day thing. If he gets through tough days like this, hopefully he wont have anymore for a while. In Wimbledon also he looked average in first round but he improved a lot. Not saying Roger will automatically raise his level. Maybe he never expected this today as Nagal was hitting hard.
It's not ideal match but then all is good as long as he survives the match.

I don't care about H2H. It will be legendary if he beats Novak and Nadal back to back and win this at 38.
He wasn't known before this at all.For our Indian friends here, is Nagal famous or at least well known in India? At #190, I'd doubt it, but not sure?

Pretty cool story for him regardless of the result. He wasn't known before this at all.
An article on him published couple of days back when he qualified for USO main draw, so Indian tennis fans got to know him.
Yesterday Indian Cricket captain & most popular Sportsman in India Virat Kohli posted about him on his INSTA so I guess people atleast recognise that name now.
I mean it is extremely unlikely that Fed will beat Novak. I could say he would beat Nadal, but beating Novak is probably impossible unless the Serbian is injured.
This is not grass. Fed won't be able to hit through Djokovic. I really can't imagine Fed taking 3 sets off of Novak.
I love the optimism. You go on to the court and leave it all out there. If your opponent is better, you shake his hand and congratulate. That's the spirit.I mean it is extremely unlikely that Fed will beat Novak. I could say he would beat Nadal, but beating Novak is probably impossible unless the Serbian is injured.
