Lame Horse at 2500. :-D

The guy hasn't even played three matches this year.

Would like to see the draw before I place bets

I just want to tell everyone that getting Alcaraz at 4.5 odds for the USO before the season started is basically the biggest steal you’ll see in tennis for the next decade. Even if he doesn’t win this USO, getting him at those odds means I will profit handsomely. And you will never get odds like this again…
Just to brag, I got him at 20.0 odds last year as I made a bet after the clay season he would win USO. Your 4.0 odds are nothing :sneaky::p

What a bet. Yeah i wish they offered futures 2 years in advance, after I saw Carlos beat Nadal/Novak back to back in Madrid I was ready to put it all on him until 2027 lol. I got him before the USO but nowhere near 20.

Side note I think last year was an amazing black swan time for tennis futures bets, because Djokovic ended up getting removed from two of them last minute so everyone’s odds were inflated for AO/USO, you had the rise of Alcaraz that bookies were late on (the futures for Rio, Miami, Madrid had him at insane odds before they caught on) and Nadal was somehow 3rd favorite for a Roland Garros. They were giving away free money in hindsight. And then Rafa got hurt…

The odds for Rafa probably take into account he could get injured at any moment. Wimbledon for example had him at 9.0 odds pre-tournament which I thought was good odds, looked to be in good form and to give Djoker a good fight after the Sonego match. Unfortunately got injured in Fritz match, and the dream came all undone.

If the Canadian Wildfires are still a thing in late August (likely) then Djokovic will not do well at USO.

Djokovic’s deep breathing will be his downfall.

In any case, this will be another first in terms of pressure and leading for Alcz, having to defend a GS title. While he folded at RG, stepped up at Wimby, this is another hurdle. Not to mentioned EVERYONE wanting to beat him for relevance. I've said we will really get to see the full upside or challenges for Alcz by the end of AO 2024. O 'd say the odds are even between Alcz and Djo, but I think Djo might even be more susceptible to losing in an earlier round. We have to see how Djo rebounds, although a certain group of folks won't see it, he has to rebound too.

I think the USO is on his racquet, for sure.

More than McEnroe? No. I don't think any of the Big 3 should have more than McEnroe.
Mcenroe was almost done after 1984.
He only played one last GS final at the US Open the following year and was no longer a contender in the Majors tournaments.
:(

They never learn.
Looks like to me they’re leaning towards Djoko being a slightly better bet against the field and less likely for an upset. If Carlitos wins one of Canada or Cincy in dominant fashion, I think the odds turn. If they stay the same and Carlitos is dominant in the USO, I think he will be favored.

Those odds make me think a hedge might save a bit of stress if your pick ends up on the tougher side of the draw. I’ve had days where I track bets the same way I manage my bankroll in บาคาร่า, just to keep myself from getting reckless. Djokovic being the fave doesn’t change much, but the gap between the top three feels small enough that a small split stake could keep things fun without overheating the wallet.
