Really felt for Jack, was a dead man walking in the third but gave it all. He is a big lad with a late growth spurt and quite some injuries which makes it impossible to be as fit as most others at that age. More time and more experiences will help with form and nerves, I see a bright future.

Very true. But he is also a very One dimensional player. His game has ZERO finesse. He doesn't vary his height, pace as much. Bad at volleying as well. Zero variety. Plan A: Hit Hard - Plan B - Hit Harder.
Just boring. He's not as talented as Federer, not a warrior like Nadal and certainly nowhere near as efficient and fast as Novak.

I'd say Sinner has decent volleys actually, for the next gen standards atleast.

Also not having finesse is not always an obstacle. Agassi had no finesse but his ballstriking was so amazingly good it made him a contender on every surfaces, every conditions of play.

Tennis will be a chore with him at the helm. The game NEEDS Alcaraz to succeed. Yes, he is tiny, but he has the talent and flair that is sorely lacking in everyone else in the ATP right now.

True, I actually think Sinner and Alcaraz having such contrasting styles is good for the game. Maybe we'll get a Sinneraz slam final next year, we'll see.

At 22 Draper's already half way to the "Retirement Slam", having pulled out mid-match at the US Open in 2022 vs Khachanov and at the French Open in 2023 vs Etcheverry. I wonder if anyone's done the other two as well.

Djokovic? Must be close at least.

Great post. Agree with everything.
Personally never liked Agassi because of his 1-D game. Was always a big Pistol Pete fan.
It would be good for the game if Sinner and Alcaraz developed an enduring rivalry. Although I do fear for tiny and suspect he might be overpowered eventually.

Mad props to Draper for trying to bring it despite all the hurdles against a player of that intimidating quality.

I think because of his playing style Sinner really demonstrates well what separates #1 and slam winners from the rest of the crop. It's not their A game but consistency in playing their A game (or atleast B-), they'll just wait out opponents hot streaks, keep plugging away and eventually get the win.

Dude's game is very sustainable and really made for the modern tennis, his main problem is that he seems pretty injury prone.

He's a pretty glorious sight ngl as much as I typically don't care for his matches. Such technical perfection from what I understand. Beautiful stuff. Must feel good to be Sinner and to be able to play that game.

Also yes, Sinner has barely needed to hit his A game but has coasted to another final by exhibiting why he's the #1 as you said.
