It's not like Canelo has no losses, so I don't think they will rig the decision. And Crawford is not just another ordinary boxer but he is regarded as P4P #1 by many. He can certainly get the decision. It will be a good match.

I want Crawford to win and maintain his undefeated record, but this is his first fight at 168 lbs, so I'm not confident enough to bet on him winning on September 13.

Beating Cam Norrie and Fritz is not impressive regardless of what age. There is absolutely nothing special about them. If Djokovic takes out Alcaraz and Sinner I will give him praise.

Djokovic played 3 and a half hours in slow conditions against a guy who hadn't played at night or on Ashe all event.

I'm not sure how anyone thinks he has any chance v Alcaraz on the basis of what we saw tonight and I'd love someone to explain to me the positives for Djokovic if he loses yet again to an ATG in a bug match

This was a much needed win for Fritz. Confidence wise, it’s tough to get through alcaraz or sinner , let alone back to back.

But not being able to beat Novak at this stage in his career when he’s supposedly improved shows how far he is from winning a slam. I truly think Novak being in his separate tier of his own after the top 2, is full of maybe 20 guys in tier 3.

Oof. I was happy to see Fritz get back in the last game from 15-40 with some grinding points. But that missed try at a pass which he had a good look at and lobbing instead, and then the double fault. That's just rough. Still, I appreciate he got back in it and made it interesting for a while.

You are giving him too much credit. How can he still not take this to 5 sets when Novak is pretty much on one leg with his stamina. Still losing to someone 11 times in a row?

Of course there would be no positives for Djokovic if he lost to Alcaraz. The positives for him have come from the wins, i.e., reaching the semifinals of another slam. If the winning now stops, then the positives stop. But so what? The same is true for every player. No one goes into a match thinking, "And there will be big positives for me even if I lose!" Reaching a particular round is often a positive, but losing once there is not. Everyone accepts that risk and plays on nonetheless.

Had to catch up on this match as it played while us in the UK were asleep.

Taylor Fritz doesn’t have the mentality to overcome the 10-0 deficit in their H2H. Novak struggled to hold his serve repeatedly. There were countless opportunities for Fritz to break serve which he failed to take. Absolutely went to pieces serving at 4-5 to stay in the match during set 4. 1st serve percentage was way down on his average and he just had no belief in his game or the ability to win.
Ran Novak around for 3000m though. Will the old boy have the energy left in his legs against Carlos?
