Sinner or Bublik: who ya got?

Pathetic performance from a talented but pathetic competitor. I hope Bublik never gets an opportunity to compete in the 2nd week of a slam again. Sinner played well but the reason the match went the way it did was because Bublik has the mental resolve of gnat and couldn't even lock in for 1 moment.
Reality TV and Gamer gens wont agree with us,
they see lame and withdrawn efforts as cool.

LOL I think the entire 3rd set Bublik was more focused on what line he was gonna use at the net during the handshake to ingratiate himself with Sinner and the folks who like him for his supposedly awesome "personality"

I never said I wanted an Anderson. If you see Sampras you can see that he did show some emotion. The almost robotic Fed started this trend. So if you replace with Sinner with a robot that can play more brilliantly, will you watch that?
Bjorn Borg (who obviously predated Federer) was perhaps the most icily composed ATG ever. Yet he was revered, idolized, held in awe -- insert your preferred verbiage here. So one might speculate that it's not the players who have devolved, but the audience. There always used to be a place of honor for triumphant stoicism.

I sure didn't see Federer as robotic, just composed. Sampras seemed indifferent to the audience at best, or slightly
contemptuous ("you don't deserve me") at worst. PETE was a great, great player, but not any ambassador for the
game at all- unlike Fred.

Borg was cool as a cucumber, Sinner as boring as a nuked frozen carrot
Borg walked with a grace, Sinner like a body builder or mafia henchman
Borg never took roids, Sinner on the other hand even rehires a drug fiend
Borg had variety that blew many players away with awesome s & v skills
while Sinner is mainly a heavy hitting machine like the great Ivan Lendl.
Sinner is closer to Lendl is most ways not Fed, Pete or Borg and even
a T1000 has more character and honest intentions without Gucci rags.

Which is fine for many people. I like sportsmen with flair. The flash of brilliance which brings a smile to their faces showing the joy they have for the sport and the achievement they revel in when they do stuff their compatriots cannot even imagine doing, also the pain when they lose a big point or miss a sitter.

That's fine, but somehow it's never enough simply to prefer more demonstrative athletes. The others have to be constantly derided as "robots," which is a dehumanizing attack.
There are no others, only Sinner. And yes if he is taking the human aspect out of it by not showing any emotion what else is it?

If you look up "Human" in Black Laws Dictionary edition 1- 4, Human: A Hue of Man, therefore not a Man, an Abomination, an Apparition or Monster.
Sinner is a Creepy Skinny Beast like the Tyler character in Wednesday, a tall skinny curly carrot headed Hyde

Have you escaped from a Lewis Carroll novel?

"The almost robotic Fed started this trend."

Circular argument, therefore invalid. You are assuming that anyone who does not display emotion as you see fit is somehow less than human. Please rethink your premises.
What do you mean by "as you see fit"? Why does he give out the big smile when accepting the trophy? Everybody smiles when they are happy or have achieved something great. It is not just me who is expecting that, everyone expects it. He should be like Rybakina who barely cracked a smile when she was showing her Wimbledon trophy.

Why is it your choice when he smiles? If he doesn't like smiling, or scowling, or freaking out while playing the match, who are you to declare that he's being inhuman?

That is wrong. But many extroverts function under the delusion that extroversion is universal.

It seems to me bizarre to say that Sampras was more emotionally demonstrative than Federer.

Sampras barely cracked a smile when he won his first Wimbledon. Feddy used to roll on the floor and cry when he won - and when he lost.
