US Open (barely) Live Stream

Just curious what the point is of this useless feature on the US Open website. Every time I've tried to use it, save once, I get the message that "the steam is not available in my area." I've tried to access it from San Diego and Singapore. My only success was in San Diego. Exactly what area is it available in? Neptune?

Or is it more a matter of "we're not going to stream it if any one of our broadcast partners are televising at the same time." At least it would be clear that it's mostly useless. As it is it offers the promise of seeing live tennis without cable, but it doesn't deliver. I guess that's a theme of the USTA.

I could be wrong, but I believe San Diego is still in the US.

However I tried it from another computer and it works. No idea why.

The live stream is great. So many courts to choose from. High quality.

I believe it's available in the USA.

I used it for the first time tonight, and found it to be awesome. Great quality, nice additional options, and I love having the crowd noise up a bit. It was actually ahead of the network feed for a while. I plan to use it much more now that I've discovered it.

I was too quick with my criticism. It works great from the other computer I tried. Not sure why it didn't work with the laptop.

Whatever, the problem was apparently on my end. My bad.

The US Open website specifically states that live streaming in only available in the US. The quality is crystal clear and the PIP court-switching ability is very nice. They've done great with it in my opinion.

I wish it were available in the UK. I don't have the tv channels which cover the USO, so I have to rely on rubbish, fuzzy, jerky free "livestreams". I use tennistv for the other tournaments and would gladly pay for a similar livestream for the slams if only one were available.
