Match scheduled around 1.00pm local time (following WTA match between Lepchenko and Flipkens)
Gasquet won their encounter in Cincinnati 2 weeks ago.

Gasquet been exemplary at taking out the young guns as of late (with the exception of Jack Sock in Washington) and been in pretty good form this year, reckon he takes this in three of four. More likely three.

Pity that “three of four, more likely three” is not listed as an option in the poll.

I chose Gasquet in 5 only because I think he still has the edge, but pulling for Kok...

I want the young guys to start winning.

I share the same sentiment. Gasquet is having quite a good year and should win here, but I would be much glad if Kokki takes this.

Once again, another big 1st round match-up; why is Chung/Duckworth also a 1st round match? Seems the young guns (a couple of Aussies included) are getting rooked.

So the groups of very vocal Aussie tennis fans dressed in yellow and green (which I always associate with Brazil) is a relatively new phenomenon or has it been going on for a while?

They have always been there. Watch any aussie's match at a slam and you'll notice the fellas ;)

By the way, Kokkinakis is banging Gasquet. Sorry to tell you that, frenchie.

Going on for a good while.

Richard will pound Kokk hard, just wait and see.

The earliest I've seen them is the 2003 Davis Cup but I would wager a lot longer than that (knowing Australia's attitude to sports).

Okay, extremely puerile stuff coming up here, but think about it:

This match is Kokk vs. Dick, and Dickie is sponsored by none other than Le Coq

Very phallocentric, this match.

Think about it:eek:

They started in 1997 when Rafter won the US Open. Rafter gave a buncch of australian guys who cheered him on in every match free tickets, all the way to the final. Then John Newcombe, who was the Davis Cup captain at the time, invited them to cheer on the next Davis Cup tie.

Then the fanatics became an actual company, where you can buy tickets and sit in a big group together, as long as you cheer on the australians and wear green and gold
