As well as Novak is playing, I'm still a bit irked that overall he's still playing so defensively. I wish he would step up the aggression a bit more. I miss the more aggressive Novak of 2011.

We're all tired from last night.
:|
:)

I know I am. Just dealing with the crowd last night was something. I don't remember the last time I saw Ashe so full. I can't imagine what it would've been like if the FEDAL match had actually happened.

This thread would have the most traffic since the Cincy meeting...

Oh he will. They all will, except veroniquem, who has admitted that if Nadal loses he deserves the flak.
Just to be clear, what I said is that Rafa deserves the flak if he doesn't make final with the draw he has. I never meant he deserves any flak for not beating Djoko (or vice versa).

Novak doesn't look that good today. He's playing well enough to win comfortably, but this won't fly against Nadal.

Just got home now. Expected score, but have the rallies been entertaining at all? Good match?

Youzhny's putting up a decent fight but as expected Novak has the upper hand in most of the rallies.

First set Youzhny had 3 BP opportunities and didn't convert. Also didn't convert BP chance so far in the second set.

Whatever I'm over that, Murray finished 2013 with 1 major and so will Djokovic

No option other than that. What about Murray's Fed slam catching? 15 more to go. Get ready for more Nadal-Djokovic finals since Nadal is back unless one of them is upset..

No contest. youz's backhand doesn't do damage to djoko's backhand and he just keeps slicing it again and again, then going for forehands and winning.

The shame is, youhz's isn't doing these mental angles he was with hewitt, just no confidence for youzny right now, sadly.

And you think with Nadal back Djokovic is now gonna win more majors? Don't fool yourself, if Nadal is wrecking like this on fast hardcourt then you're not gonna like the 2014 season

How about we just wait until we get to 2014. For all we know Nadal could be hobbled again for another 6 months.

Djokovic will give you enough reasons to cry. As if you are not getting them from Murray. You are a disgrace as a fan of Murray and spoiling the names of Batz, Mainad.

I will gladly eat crow if Djokovic wins this tournament but the evidence from the past stacks against him whether you want to ignore it or not.

I'm not sure if Novak needs to crush a guy or get into a long 5 set dogfight in order to get his confidence up for the next match(es).

Nobody should ignore the likely possibility that Djokovic raises his game another level come the final.

So far he hasn't needed to be very good or expend too much energy. I mean, look at his opponents. He'll be ready for Nadal in the final, IF they meet.

Very worried about SOG going up against Nadal.
However Djokovic's Forehand is looking good with some good punch to it.
Also hitting it with the sweet angled topspins
How Djokovic is hitting the forehand. That usually is a decent indicator to how he is playing.

USO is Djokovic's most consistant slam. Since 2007, it took the GOAT, Nadal on juice and the wind for him to lose here. You know what I'm saying?

That's why Federer straight setted him in 08 and 09...yup

Get your stats right.

2007 - lost to Federer in 3 tough sets (had set points in the first 2)
2008 - lost to Federer in 4
2009 - lost to Federer in 3 close sets
2010 - lost to Nadal in 4 sets
2011 - beat Federer and Nadal
2012 - lost to Murray in 5

He's the only player who's made the US Open semi of the last 6 editions and he doesn't look like losing to Youzhny right now so make that 7.

It could be opposite. But I guess Novak is determined on each point this tourney. :)
