Guess Novak woke up. He needs to play with as much purpose and intensity like this, point in and point out, in the semi and potential final.

Arg, trying to watch this and the prospects game between the Canucks and Sharks at the same time. I'm being pulled in both directions!

Nice! Double break for Djokovic.

Does anyone (from the UK) found this Unibet advert a bit laughable? Like they've been told to sound knowledgeable and ended up just spouting any old info they can muster and don't sound particularly knowledgeable at all as a result.

Have the Eurosport commentators been drinking? I mean, they're really funny right now, but I've never heard such giggly commentary before.

Overall I think this match was good for Novak. Not too hard, not too easy: he demonstrated in the first, second, and fourth sets that he can play on a level to challenge Nadal, while his rebound from the third set will give him some confidence and "match toughness". Wawrinka will be a bigger challenge though.

Yeah, no. Maybe in some points. Overall he played a very average match.

djokovic changes gears when he wants..

his new coach is just the addition his team needed.

As JohnieMac would say, you can't be serious? The 2 week coaching wonder, who's mocked by JMac! No one gets results that fast. The guy hasn't been a tennis fixture for a while.

After the first two set wins ,N Djokovic kicked into a higher gear that 4th set, after losing the 3rd set,,well done.

:)

Strong finish for Novak. So let's compare the 2 projected finalists now.
Nadal: 2 bagels, 2 breadsticks, 1 set lost
Djoko: 4 bagels, 1 breadstick, 1 set lost

Pretty close.

What may lose the final in the end for Novak is that his serve looks more breakable than Rafa's. Unless he finds a way to fix that somehow, it may well be what makes the difference on Monday and gives the last bite to SuperRafa. ;)

Ain't you the one who thinks Wawrinka will bagel New Hair Novak?

No bagels happening to Novak by Stan. But, Stan can push Novak, we'll see how much of Stan from AO2013 shows up. I would think Stan takes some positives out of what he saw tonight.

I would go the opposite way. Nadal's serve is one of his biggest liabilities against Djokovic given how good a returner he is. To beat Djokovic on hard courts you need a potent serve. Having watched the 4th round and quarter finals I am now a lot confident that Djokovic will beat nadal.

Rafa HAS a potent serve right now. Haven't you noticed his service games haven't been broken after 5 matches played? Novak's is the one that looks a bit shaky, sometimes DFing games away. Against Nadal, he won't have that safety cushion of being an exceptional returner because Nadal is equally exceptional in that department, so whoever is more clutch holding will win the match and right now it looks like Nadal is more clutch in his service games than Djoko. (granted we're talking slight differences here, anything could happen on the day, they're both capable of beating the other)

But they were single-handers and Rafa eats 1HBH alive, no? BP down, Serve to their BH and Bammmm!!! ;)

I could barely watch the match because of the commentary. Chris (I don't know his game) is a good commentator but there was a new one in the booth today and he's just atrocious, the guy keeps talking all the time and never shuts up!

Both still need to make it to the final. Rafa's strength is that there's no one mentally tougher than him. It seemed Novak was prepping himself for a recovery after a lost set.

Like he did in Montreal?

SOG dropped a set against Youzhny ?:| I have a feeling Stan will give him a harder time than Murray would in the semis.
