US Open Seedings

Imagine that the US Open had the leeway to seed players based on their hard court performances (both recent and past) as a predictor for how they will perform in NYC. How would you seed the top ten on the women's side?

#4 Venus Williams
#5 Justin Henin-Hardenne
#6 Svetlana Kuznetsova
#7 Maria Sharapova
#8 Elena Dementieva
#9 Amelie Mauresmo
#10 Mary Pierce

We'd have to wait until the end of the summer to decide...

And given the total outcry that would result from arbitrary seeding, they'd be sure to pick a formula to do it fairly instead, which I don't think would be enough to push kim clijsters up that high, IMO.
