Press conference for Daniil
Actually watching that press conference makes me quite like him. He seems very smart, clearly had a lot of potential. Hopefully he has learned something from the controversy; it seems like he has anyway.

I wouldn't mind him winning the tournament actually. Don't think he will, but who knows.

Tough matchup for Medvedev on paper but he's just in better form right and barring any injury he should get this one in 3 or max 4 sets if Dimitrov peaks in one set.

I am not sure how to answer the poll? I think Medvedev will win in a grueling 5 set match.

Age of Grigorius in 4, possibly in 3 if Mad Lad wheel is bad.

Never expected the Lost Gen underachiever to break out of his very long slump here but he’s doing it with substance, something he’s obviously picked up from Andre.

Wow , You don't think Dimitrov has the game to trouble him?

Technically, yes, but Med has that slap backhand that requires almost no time, and takes a lot of time from the other player. He killed Stan by following the short, flat DTL BH with a deep crosscourt BH. Plus his length can be a major issue. He has a very offbeat game that makes it tough to establish a rhythm, plus a monster serve and FH that most players like him don't have.

I noticed the crowd didn't boo Med as loudly as was expected. Maybe they're appreciating his grit and willingness to fight more and more?

Bingo

Federer isn’t an easy player to defeat
But he was playing at maybe 60 or 70% and it went to 5. I love Grigor. He is a genuinely nice guy and I am happy to see him get this far in a tournament. I also like Medvedev. He is honest and eloquent and seems to have his priorities straight. He admits to his failings without copping out at least. That is refreshing.

Medvedev is a good player and might in fact win the USO. It won't be good for tennis, though, and he will never replace Fedal in the public eye, for the same reason as Djokovic: he has the personality and sex appeal of a fencepost.

Ehhhh so you think Fedal got more sex appeal than Novak?

Grigor has a chance if MedWed is hurting a bit. However I don't think I would want to see Grigor/Nads in a final. A little too lopsided for me to even tune in. Love seeing new players in the quarters and semi's though!!!

Do you really want Dimitrov in the final? Come on, he doesn't deserve it.
Honestly I don’t care much who is in the final from this side. Already a win win situation. But if Dimitrov wins it will be pure memz. And Medvedev is a bit overhyped. His form was far from great at this tournament. Got lucky that Wawrinka had an off day.

It's honestly going to be a joke if Dimitrov wins this slam. He was irrelevant all year and got extremely lucky with the draw here.

Yeah, Medvedev is clearly not playing his best in US open, he was destroying his opponents in canada and cincinnati(except nadal and djoko), while he lost a set in each of his last 4 matches to opponents he should have been destroying.(Koepfer and dellien took a set off him, that is bad.)

Nah my friend.
Med is a smart guy.
If the crowd treats him like s_it, he'll respond in kind.
If the crowd treats him with respect, he'll respond in kind.
And become very personable and sexy.

The only thing good for tennis right now is ABN! (anyone but Nadal).

You said he'd never replace Fedal in the public eye.
Who ever said he would? Anyone on this site?

Can you tell me any current player who could replace Fedal in the public eye?
