In the ITA fall top 10 newcomer list, there were only two Americans: John McNally (OSU) and Oliver Crawford (FL). Below is the list of 2017 blue chips who waited to Jan to start as well as 2018 Patrick Kypson who is starting early. Are there any others from 2018 starting early? I have listed their ATP ranking and highest jr ITF ranking as well as UTR. (Note Benjamin Sigouin is Canadian but was on TRN blue chip list for class of 2017)

I had lined up the columns but when I posted in TTW, the formatting was lost

UTR jr itf ATP College
Benjamin Sigouin 14.37 4 786 UNC QFist jr French Open, finalist boys dubs US Open
Patrick Kypson 14.32 18 707 Texas A&M won Kzoo 18s, won Niceville Future, Jr Wimbledon SFist
Mac Kiger 13.86 295 UNC-originally committed to Illinois
Alafia Ayeni 13.85 27 1284 Cornell
Gianni Ross 13.85 13 1005 UVA
Sebastian Arcila 12.88 102 Florida State, played for Puerto Rico Davis Cup team

(Note: UTR does not have some of these guys listed for colleges yet) Ayeni, Ross, Kypson, and Crawford trained with USTA PD

Here is the same info for US top fall players
John McNally 13.90 13 1150 was ATP 916 ITA #57
Oliver Crawford 14.21 9 1486

The ITA fall newcomers list ranged from Axel Geller (Stanford) UTR 14.68 to Maxim Tybar (13.65).
For comparison, top US players from spring 2017 were JJ Wolf ( UTR 14.49 1/18, 14.27 1/17) and William Blumberg (UTR 14.76 Jan 18, 14.65 Jan 17)

Other blue chip US freshmen who started in fall and currently have 13.5ish or higher UTR rankings are:

Timothy SAH 13.85 Stanford University
Keegan SMITH 13.84 UCLA ITA #108 ATP 994
Ryan SEGGERMAN 13.65 Princeton University ITA #114
Paul BARRETTO 13.63 California
Andres Andrade 13.62 University of Florida
Kyrylo Tsygura 13.53 University of Virginia
Jacob Brumm 13.52 California
Alexander BROWN 13.47 University of Illinois ATP 1765 (1 pt)

Two 5 star US freshmen already have ITA ranking:
Yuval Solomon 13.15 Wake Forest (ITA 83-probably wont play in spring as Wake has 8 players with higher UTR)
Evan Bynoe 12.92 Cornell ITA #106

The class of 2018 is really loaded headed by Sam Riffice ATP 763, heading to FL for 18/19.

This is how good Stanford team is right now. Blue chip Timothy Sah may not get any playing time or small % of playing time at #6. He could be #1 or 2 on any other team...

Matthew Lord of UVa should be on the list somewhere, as a blue chip who played in the fall.
I only listed the blue chips over UTR 13.5 or guys with ITA rankings. Lord is UTR 13.03. However, in looking at his record, he is definitely one to watch-winning 5 matches at All Americans, and at fall invites beating a South Carolina player and losing in 3 sets to GT's current 1S Divar who is 13.8. Guy should be rated higher. Sometimes UTR doesnt make sense. I saw that he played HS tennis for his private school winning vs 11s-UTR can drop if a player does not win big enough vs players 2.0 or more below. He should shoot up once those HS matches are replaced by college ones. UTR always says playing HS matches doesnt hurt elite players but this is a good example of how it can.
