Used gamma crank machine ST vs Used game ES

First time stringer looking at both a used crank Machine (GAMMA Progression ST II) and a used electric stringer (Gamma Progression ES ii). I seem to have seen comments advising to steer clear of older electric stringers - more that can go wrong versus with a crank if the condition is not great. Any general thoughts? The price of these used options is similar - in the $500 range ...

If the ST is in good shape and you only intend to be a home stringer, the machine should last you indefinitely. If the ES is in decent shape, tension head operates smoothly, clamps and bases are in good condition, I would contact Gamma to see if they still support the machine, i.e. can you get a replacement board or any other critical electronics if your machine fails. Either machine, if properly functional, will do the job but most people will enjoy the stringing experience on an electronic machine more than a crank. You just need to make sure you don't end up with a paperweight if the electronics fail and there are no replacement parts readily available.

Actually neither of them ! One was geographically too far away and the other looked, on closer inspection, looked like it had some pieces missing
