Every time I see a cat, I am reminded of Rusty.

He's an investment banker, so he must be busy making millions, and taking pretty girls out in his yacht.

This four minutes or so of Disney's "Dumbo" is my fail proof way to wile away dead time on the streets while I'm pedicabbing. Can you imagine how ahead of their times these animators were to make this magical sequence in the early 1940's???

Dr. Albert Hoffman took the first LSD trip in 1943 on a bicycle ride home from his Sandoz lab in Switzerland. It was an accidental trip due to contact with the drug, which he was testing for other purposes. What happened to his mind on his ride home was quite surprising to him.[IMG]

A kind soul left the Weekend Arts section of The New York Times on a bus seat. I completed the crossword puzzle in it on one leg of my commute and only needed one Google hint to break the stymie in one quadrant of the puzzle.

There's nothing like pen to paper when doing crossword puzzles. I tried it online and it's just not the same.

I went to a local Indian market today, hoping to buy some of their freshly made samosas, but they were already sold out. This left me very disappointed.

Sounds like a surreptitious Sewretchian road trip might be behind this suspicious shortage.

I once learned that "deer in headlights" is an actual behavior while driving down a hill in Lafayette one night. The deer was frozen and just stared at my car. I didn't want to honk, as it might get startled and run into traffic, so I turned off my headlights and it trotted away.

William Blake was very deep but his all too modern views on sexuality and the shackling bonds of matrimony were not very soothing to many of his British contemporaries in the late 18th/early 19th centuries.

To see the world in a grain of sand, and to see heaven in a wild flower, hold infinity in the palm of your hands, and eternity in an hour.

A guy named Jim once walked through Blake's door and took a few lines.

Some are born to sweet delight.
Some are born to sweet delight,
Some are born to endless night.
We are led to believe a lie
When we see not thro’ the eye,
Which was born in a night to perish in a night,
When the soul slept in beams of light.
God appears, and God is light,
    To those poor souls who dwell in night;
But does a human form display
To those who dwell in realms of day.

About a different place to eat:

    "Soul Kitchen"

Well, the clock says it's time to close now
I guess I'd better go now
I'd really like to stay here all night
The cars crawl past all stuffed with eyes
Street lights share their hollow glow
Your brain seems bruised with numb surprise
    Still one place to go
    Still one place to go

Let me sleep all night in your soul kitchen
Warm my mind near your gentle stove
Turn me out and I'll wander baby
    Stumblin' in the neon groves

Well, your fingers weave quick minarets
    Speak in secret alphabets
    I light another cigarette
Learn to forget, learn to forget
Learn to forget, learn to forget

Let me sleep all night in your soul kitchen
Warm my mind near your gentle stove
Turn me out and I'll wander baby
    Stumblin' in the neon groves

Well the clock says it's time to close now
I know I have to go now
I really want to stay here
All night, all night, all night
