Using an AP Belt?

As you guys know, I've been training with the AP Belt now for almost 3 months. I'm really starting to notice some pretty significant improvements in my game.....I'm pleasantly surprised that these improvements aren't exclusive to movement. My stroke production is really starting to get bigger and more consistent. The most exciting part is that some of these improvements are beginning to carry over into my match play. Habitually a slow starter, I am now getting off to a better start....While I can't keep AP Belt form through 3 sets...(it comes and goes depending on how much my opponent is pressuring me), I am enjoying those terrific "tennis moments" with a tad more regularity.

I know that AP Belt was running a special for the folks here at TW. From the postings, I know that a good number of us took advantage of this promotion. I was just curious to learn what types of results everyone else is getting.

Thanks

I used to read that the difference between the top players like Billie Jean King and Rod Laver versus the highly ranked players who rarely won tournaments is that the champions could raise the level of their game on the big points when the pressure was on. I always wondered how they did that -- swing harder and you make more mistakes, get tentative and your game gets weaker.

Perhaps your experience with the AP-belt provides the answer. These champions could not stay in the AP position the whole match long, but they would do so on the big points -- which allowed them to run quicker and hit harder with fewer errors.

I have made my AP-belt one month ago but I was to lazy or tired to use it, lol. Now I'm going to use it all the time!

Hey VJH,
i've used mine a few times, though due to realities of daily life, not enough. When i do keep myself in AP mode, my shots are deeper, heavier and less-muscled. I workout with weights quite a bit, and i've used the AP belt as much as a gauge of my fitness as i do a training aid. It's a great adjunct to the stuff i do off-court.
Anyway, i'm hooked, just gotta do it more!
