Weird match. I took a 2.5 hour break at a bar where I was watching it. Seems like both have blown opportunities - but also played well at times. Key point is obviously that point in the second set when Alcaraz had the weak reply after the lob and netted the next shot. I'd think Sinner is going to win now, but I wouldn't bet on it.
CA has blown two opportunities of winning two sets.

He could have finished this in straight sets. He must play smarter and more clutch on BP's.

Never seen Cahill so pumped up. He was always so quiet when watching Halep. :)
The last few games of Sinner was sure worth to be excited about.

Ruud is DESTINED to be #1. Get used to it.
He will definitely beat KK.

And in the final, Ruud will have his chances too. vs Both Sinner and Tiafoe. Both are headcases in a way.

Just woke up and startes watching from 6-5, 40-40.Sinner has run away with it since then.
This is similar to Novak vs Federer UsOpen 2007 final. Even though it is NOT straight sets.
Alcaraz had Big opportunities in each of the sets, but lost the sets.
His BP conversion is something like 5 out of 20 or so. Close to 25%.
All stats favor Alcaraz - but Sinner just won the big pts.

That forehand miss in set point for the second set looked match deciding, and it actually was, i knew it the moment it happened

CA is too short. Sinner is in that 6’2” sweet spot with Djokovic. in the Poly era, players gotta be between 6’1” and 6’3”. Any shorter they can’t hit down on the serve and any taller they can’t move well enough.

Sinner reaping the benefits of his ridiculously high string tension - absolutely crushing the forehand. I'd avoid that thing for a while until it cools off...

Maybe now it's Jannik's turn to choke up a bit when he's got a lead?

His performance is very federer like. Poor bp conversion ratio and choking leads again and again.

Fed didn't choke lead twice against players he was supposed to win. he had that problem against Djokodal. Alcaraz seems to be having this problem against every second player. On top of that he played a horrible TP now.

Djokovic and Nadal must be watching this match in abject terror lol. Both these guys are now 50/50 matchups for them going forward. At best.

He's grown. He's closer to 6'4+ now.

Wow I guess it's his lanky build... I thought he was 6'3" or 6'4" even

It's [insert current year] and break points is still given priority over break GAMES.

Both these guys have tons of bps, using the games stat would tell a much clearer picture. (maybe)
