I bet Nadal is going to be exhausted if he loses tomorrow... Not that his practice and training is several times tougher than this match*, but whatever.

*set.

Dam, Nadal is gonna be so tired after this superhuman effort. I have no idea how he's gonna get through the next round without being exhausted for the final! Man, why is Nadal so unlucky ALL the time. God, stop being such a *******.

But in all seriousness congrats for the SF Nadal!

But dam this was a joke. Might as well play the semis today!

Pathetic display of tennis from Gonzaels, what a coward. I'd understand if he fought and lost, but he just handed it over to Nadal, didn't show any will to win or at least stay in the match. I believe Nadal will easily reach the final from now, I don't see DP beating him in a slam.

i wonder if they asked rafa to play a semi tonight, he would say yes...

this was practically a 30 minute warmup with a bad partner.

This turned out to be the best case scenario for Rafa. He played,what,20 minutes? He is fresh for DelPo so if he loses tomorrow it is because he got outplayed and I don't want to hear excuses from misguided fans.
Obviously this would have been worse if they went to 4 or 5 sets but as it is it was a good day for Nadal,a light practice if you will.

I know Nadal's a beast but I don't know if even he can recover from this. He's a Spartan though,if he manages to beat Delpo after this exhausting performance today he's really an amazing warrior.

35 minutes on court... that was Nadal's dream scenario. This definitely puts him in the mix for the title!

It was great, so brief! anyway, im still worried for Nadal´s abs. I still think in normal conditions Delpo wouldn´t be able to beat him in 5 sets (that´s important, look at delpo´s match against federer, he was worn down after 2 sets), but with nadal serving at 100 mph/ 170 km, i see him giving away too many break points!

For the ****s and trolls: im not making excuses, just saying the same as commentators such as Mcenroe (who knows about tennis more than you and me) say, and that is Nadal is serving at 50%

that was pathetic. almost the entire set and most of the tiebreak was given away because of gonzo unforced errors.

but i gotta say, nadal really exerted himself. i don't know how he's going to recuperate after such a strong showing. :)

I thought that extra day's rest would help Gonzo get his game together and come up with a more solid strategy.

Ahah...you know Gonzo is allergic to strategy right?
Don't get me wrong, I like the guy but i think 3.5 players employ more strategy than Gonzo.

Anyway, good win for Nadal. Couldn't have asked for anything better.

Courier seemed to say nadal would probably get the first match tomorrow? is that what he said, did anyone pay attention?

What a joke of a match. It's no wonder Gonzo has never made it past the quarters of a slam.

When did you start watching tennis?

That statement is understandable if you started watching... ohhhh let's say 2 months ago!

He made the semi's of the French Open this year! And the finals of the Australian Open in 2007!

I agree... abs are tricky. One wrong move and you tweak them... then they start cramping up.

Yep more of all the same old excuses. Gonzalez and Verdasco = clowns. Everyone outside the top 3 or 4 today is a clown in fact. Just a really weak era.

Right. And I'd love to see how those clowns would paint your face with a fuzzy little tennis ball if you were out there on the court. I'd pay to see that. Cracks me up whenever folks like you get on their high horse and start talking about pro tennis players like they have absolutely no talent whatsoever. You must be a phenomenal player.

Clowns. Give me a phucking break.

*sigh*
