This is gonna be good, they had one of the GOAT tiebreaks in the Laver cup. Kyrgios is hungry and could be Fed in 4, but he won't. Fed in 3, age beats youth yet again.

Wayne Arthurs right? I've always wanted to witness a five TBs match, Ivo isn't around for much longer, so it rests in John's hands at the moment ;) Can't count on Nick, too many tanked service games.
that's him ! ;)

d. santopadre at wimbledon 1999 : 76 67 76 76
d. coutelot at RG 2001 : 76 67 76 76
d. dent at wimbledon 2002 : 76 76 67 76
(won them all !)

by the way, this quest for the pristine "full TB" 5-setter led me to this good old thread that you might like:

RF will complain and get penalized when the umpire again coaches Nick to be a better tennis player! RF will be psych out and play poor afterwards and loose this match.

Kyrgios retires before the match starts
Let's revisit this remark Saturday night. Nick is always up when playing Fed, and Roger is playing horribly. They have very tight matches when Fed is playing 90% (Miami 2017). So when Roger is playing at 2013 level, guess what might happen?

Kyrgios hits 20 double faults and loses a winnable match.

I understand this concern and share it to some degree.

However--this isn't Miami, it's a Slam. Kyrgios is going to buckle under the weight of the occasion, his only chance is if Fed just plays absolutely horribly...or does his stupid/stubborn thing of trying to destroy the opponent's biggest strength. That would see him continue to serve to Nick's FH and get broken enough to lose motivation and perhaps the match.

Otherwise, Fed's serve looks great and he will need it. Kyrgios won't make him run too much, so Fatiguerer likely won't be exposed. I give Fed a solid 75-80% chance to win the match.

If Fed gets comfortable he takes it in 4. Drops the 3rd due to laziness/carelessness in the TB and then watches Kyrgios crumble and hand him an early break in the 4th, after which he runs away and wins the 4th 6-3.

Or he takes Kyrgios' best shot in the 2nd set, then comes back for the kill and cruises in 3 and 4 as was his old pattern in 1.0 days. I just don't think the match goes to 5, and if it does Fed is in deep ****.

so out of 9 sets they played 8 went to tie breakers.. they should just play tie breakers tomorrow.. why bother to play whole set in this sweltering heat

Fed is still waiting for the Neo Backhand® to come back. With both in medium form, it will be tight.

Fed in 4.
For some reason, Federer pull best of Kyrgios.(and Djokovic )

However, Fed in 4 tight sets. One thing is sure - tiebreak(s).
