I'd like Fedovic to happen personally, but I also recognized it improves Novak's chances to not face him. Even though I think he would win that match, the stress of these high gravitas meetings between all time greats in earlier rounds can really mentally burn out the players I think. Look at Djokovic finally beating Nadal in Rg 15 quarters for example. (Yes I give major credit to Wawa still, but I had thought of that since I saw the draw)

I knew you were going to say RG 2015 even before you got to it. :D I had that same thought earlier in the tournament. Djokovic playing amazing against Nadal, then beating Murray in 5 and was flat for the final. It does improve his chances if he doesn't face so many of them back to back.

On this slower court Cilic has no chance against him and Nishikori has always been an easy match up for him. IMO there are two players who can beat him if they play their best and both of them are on the other side of the draw.

I understand that drop shots really take your legs out from under you. They wear you out. Like body shots in boxing. But they seem to have no effect on Milkman. I’m sure Roger is thinking, “when is this guy going to fade?”

the last I recall fed with those many DFs was USO 09 final with 11 DFs.

(didn't he also hit like 3 DFs in one game vs Murray at Shanghai/Toronto in 2010. not sure what total count there was)

Funny how everyone was complaining about the draw in the bottom half. Novak possibly has it easiest if Fed were to lose here. Nadal would face Thiem-Delpo-Djokovic, which is a task in itself.

Not to say that the draw changed anything. I feel that even if the draw was reversed, Novak would still win the tournament.

Oh ok cool. Well it may have been brutally hot but at least you got to see some decent tennis. Cilic/Goffin could have been a bit better though.

This will probably go 5 and they will both drop over tied 10-10 in the tie break then the first one who gets up wins like in Rocky 2.

Rafa and Delpo? Isner would have had a puncher's chance too IMO.

Why does he not retire from the match? Looks like he’s playing on hoping he can get it done with dropshots, but it’s just getting a bit beyond a joke now.

Shanghai 2012 I think. There was a bad game to give Murray a break there.

Also, AO 2015 3R vs. Seppi was atrocious in terms of DFs.

Gilbert said Murray has been texting him during this match. Murray practiced with Millman before the tournament and Murray says he was "unbelievably fit" and he trains in Brisbane with "brutal heat." It doesn't look like Millman is going to run out of gas.
