When was the last time Fed had 8 DF's?
I knew you were going to say RG 2015 even before you got to it. I had that same thought earlier in the tournament. Djokovic playing amazing against Nadal, then beating Murray in 5 and was flat for the final. It does improve his chances if he doesn't face so many of them back to back.I also put my foot in my mouth about the type of player Millman is never being able to push top guys lol.
I'd like Fedovic to happen personally, but I also recognized it improves Novak's chances to not face him. Even though I think he would win that match, the stress of these high gravitas meetings between all time greats in earlier rounds can really mentally burn out the players I think. Look at Djokovic finally beating Nadal in Rg 15 quarters for example. (Yes I give major credit to Wawa still, but I had thought of that since I saw the draw)
On this slower court Cilic has no chance against him and Nishikori has always been an easy match up for him. IMO there are two players who can beat him if they play their best and both of them are on the other side of the draw.Hm, true. Novak couldn't ask for a much better draw. Only potential threat on the way to the final is Cilic (maybe Nishikori?) and despite his recent Queens victory that is still a comfortable match-up for Novak.
Millman is pathetic. He is smiling and acting like he actually deserves this.the annoying thing is millman aint going to do anything after this match when he wins, like what are you doing dude, stop playing spoiler
Funny how everyone was complaining about the draw in the bottom half. Novak possibly has it easiest if Fed were to lose here. Nadal would face Thiem-Delpo-Djokovic, which is a task in itself.Hm, true. Novak couldn't ask for a much better draw. Only potential threat on the way to the final is Cilic (maybe Nishikori?) and despite his recent Queens victory that is still a comfortable match-up for Novak.
Oh ok cool. Well it may have been brutally hot but at least you got to see some decent tennis. Cilic/Goffin could have been a bit better though.yup was there on Friday and today. saw some great matches on grandstand and Armstrong. plan was to get Armstrong day tickets and just experience non ashe matches and then get ashe ticket to see fed today but I saw that he was playing the second night match and I couldn't stay back that late so I opted for Armstrong again.
Rafa and Delpo? Isner would have had a puncher's chance too IMO.On this slower court Cilic has no chance against him and Nishikori has always been an easy match up for him. IMO there are two player who can beat him if they play their best and both of them are on the other side of the draw.
Shanghai 2012 I think. There was a bad game to give Murray a break there.the last I recall fed with those many DFs was USO 09 final with 11 DFs.
(didn't he also hit like 3 DFs in one game vs Murray at Shanghai/Toronto in 2010. not sure what total count there was)
Gilbert said Murray has been texting him during this match. Murray practiced with Millman before the tournament and Murray says he was "unbelievably fit" and he trains in Brisbane with "brutal heat." It doesn't look like Millman is going to run out of gas.I understand that drop shots really take your legs out from under you. They wear you out. Like body shots in boxing. But they seem to have no effect on Milkman. I’m sure Roger is thinking, “when is this guy going to fade?”
