It's one thing to cheer after a long rally; he's done nothing wrong here so far. But there are times where Monfils clearly goes over the line. The match against Roddick at the FO was a perfect example of it, where he was utterly crushing Roddick, and then proceeded to incite the crowd even further for no apparent reason.

He was in front of his home fans. Murray did the same type of stuff at Wimbledon, and Roddick and even Blake have done similar things at the USO.

Nadal does have enough firepower to push Monfils around like Federer does. It's just a question of whether he's up to it or not.

LOL at the people getting carried away. It's whoop ass at 5-2 in the first set, but let's see what happens as the match progresses.

Monfils is a lot of things, but I wouldn't say that consistent is one of them.

No, not even close. Not on an unimportant point (which is what Monfils did). Roddick rarely incites the crowd on purpose, at least not while he's utterly crushing a guy.

Those two points werer freaking AMAZING. I myself was pumped by just watching it on TV. Celebrating them the way Monfils did was understandable, especially a young player like him, all excited with playing at such a big stage. The last thing you wanna see is him being all "incapacitated" by nervousness and being a no-show in the match.

Rafa right back in the set, Monfils should be at the net a bit more often once he's pushed Rafa out of position. As it is he's letting Rafa float a lot of balls back now to effectively reset rallies

Idk i find Nadals celebrations more annoying than Monfils for some reason

Because Nadal can do it against Federer? Nadal's celebrations are certainly less ostentatious than Monfils, though neither bother me.

The way Nadal is setting up his left leg when he serves now, did he just start doing that this Open? I don't remember seeing that before. Trying to get his foot juuuuust right.
