The crowd was so behind Kyrgios and I mean I don't want to assume how people support but is it simply because Nick is a brat and makes the papers? It doesn't feel like he's worth it. I'm almost sorry for Rublev that the crowd is barely even cheering for him now he's won. Poor guy

Well played, Rublev.

 Same, Chelsea drew again after leading ffs, we’re playing some nice stuff but can’t manage the game at all. United dropped points again which made me chuckle but we should’ve capitalised ffs
Yeah, I saw that. Tammy Abraham looks to be getting it done. I wasn't thinking United would challenge for the title this season. Still look a long way from being able to challenge for the league. Looking to be annoying as ever. lol

Kyrgios doesn't seem to want it enough to grind out these kind of matches. He could have won if he would have been just a bit more careful during the tiebreaks.

Kyrgios is garbage. Does anyone believe he can rally with Djoker or Fed in a Best of 5?

:-D
I don't but many people seem to. I just don't see where he has the stamina or legs to hang in those intense aggressive baseline battles Fedovic will make you play. Federer blew him away last year at the USO though.

How nice of Rublev, Nick can now fully focus on being a Twitter diarrhea for the rest of the tournament. And TTW can also fully focus on kissing Stan's ass tomorrow and Cilic's the day after. May it end miserably for that bunch again.
Bingo. Now that Kyrgios is no longer useful for Fednatics, they will move on to other tools.

Amazon prime here. It's roughly 1 point behind the live score but a good stream with decent commentary
And better still all the guys from Sky Sports are here(Marcus, Annabel, Petchey, Rusedski, Cowan). :) I'm guessing @Mainad must be delighted about that as I know how much he missed them all being together(and so did I). ;)

Rublev has really impressed. He's the far better prospect and player than either Thiem or Zverev. Wow, he's the real deal.
I had Rublev to be top dog of the Big3 Russians in 2017. That injury was a real bummer. Medv rose, but it would be nice if Rublev can go up higher going forward.

Ahhh sheet, Marcus is here too? Thats cool, haven’t seen him yet. Still as sarcastic and british as ever I hope

This might be stupid to suggest but could it be that he’s Russian? They definitely weren’t behind Medvedev and I mean rightly so after what he did but never felt like they liked him from the start.

It was the same story during his two TB's at Wimbledon this year against Rafa. A guy with his serve on grass should win TB's, but he just blows it mentally in crunch moments.

It's funny 'cos earlier in the week I was thinking to myself how everyone from Sky Sports was now over at Amazon Prime except for Marcus so out of interest I googled his name just to see what he's up to now and lo and behold I saw on his twitter feed that he was making his return to Amazon that same evening! Isn't it strange how things work out like that sometimes? :)

Average rally length vs Rublev was 3.
Djoker will push him far more than that. Kyrgios has ugly baseline strokes that eventually fall apart.
His only hope is to pray for a great serving day. But he will never win from the baseline against Big 3.

His return must become better. Otherwise it’s no advantage to be a good server when every point counts in a TB.

It’s too easy for his opponents to easily convert their own service points without even needing a really great serve and then capitalizing on the occasional letdown from Nick.

Novak fans should thank USO crowd for not showing Novak enough respect and love - because that's the reason he wins slams. I reddit on TT.

Why all this saltcasm? Your guy is doing great and will probably lift the trophy.

Not a big surprise tbh. Kyrgios is all about potential while his results stay at 500 level. Now Rublev inherits Nick's cakewalk to SF.

I'm offended!
This is not saltcasm, it's schadenfreude. :p

He needs to go through a guy who is a tough match up for him, then a youngster who beat him recently, and then Fedal, all of that with an iffy shoulder. Trophy under all those circumstances is not probable.

Wait... I thought Nick the Dick was winning this whole thing! It was said so right here in many posts. Not losing in straight sets in round 3. But, at least now he is freed to post comments about Djokovic that will enrage the beast inside the Serb. World hates Serbs, and they bask in it!

rublev more talented than kyrgios in every aspect of the game other than serving and circus shots, this is the harsh truth that some refuse to open their eyes to
I agree there. I think point to point he has a much more consistent and complete game, mental stability and maturity aside.

Nick shrinks in pressure situations and acts out. Rublev did his thin and is moving on to the next round on some strong, consistent, great play.

It’s not always true that the crowd don’t like Russians. Safin was a massive crowd favorite wherever he went. I think the problem is that people don’t gravitate towards dry, emotionless personalities on the court. Especially since it’s kinda of uncanny how the Russian male players all seem to have that cookie cutter style of play. Strong solid two handed backhand and the old school slap forehand. Then have a stone face throughout the match. Safin was a break from the Russian mold. Plus he had an electrifying game and was handsome as well. People were drawn to that along with his combustible persona. It was a perfect storm.

As a matter of fact I recommend Medvedev have more outbursts. Outside of the middle finger and mistreating the ballboys. At least he’s being real and the people are drawn to that. He can show emotion more often.
