Grats, Del Potro! I don't mind because Del Potro fans won't rub it in our Fed fan's faces. Roger Federer you are still the bad ass mother ****er too me.

I'm proud of Federer of his perfomance here.And nothing changes it.
 
A number of thoughts:

1) I think the 1st set was too easy and Fed let his foot off the gas - big mistake.
2) As in other big matches he's lost, Fed's serve was sad - like the AO final the fact that he could get it to 5 sets when serving that bad is a tribute to the rest of his game.
3) Fed just couldn't get the ball away from the big FH
4) Again like the AO final, Fed came out tight to start the 5th, got behind, and couldn't recover

But great job by JMDP to not give up after getting pwned in the 1st; excellent serve strategy to go for a higher % so Fed couldn't attack his 2nd; and for having the new nastiest shot on the tour - his huge FH.

Shame on the fans: the constant yelling was pathetic - idiots who thought they were helping their man ended up hurting him. And Garner didn't do a very good job trying to shut them up. I think he's a one major chair ump wonder...
 
Del Potro is soooooooo gracious in complimenting Roger the way he did. Roger gave a commercial for how many games he won in a row.

Poor Del Po is so nervous he can barely talk without choking. How refreshing to see another player who is humble and self effacing.

Del Po asked to speak in spanish and the announcer refused to allow him to speak. That was really poor taste. His reply "We are running out of time."

Oh, stop, he just did get the mike. Good for him !!!! How touching !!!

... They can take 4 hours to broadcast the match but can't give Del Po two full minutes. :-/

I am so glad to see Del Po do such a good run this year ! bully for him !!! BRAVO !!!!

OMG, that was a close call. If Dick didn't let delpo do his speech in Spanish, that would've been one if the most dickish moves in history.

JMDP is pure class. Very happy for him. Too bad for Fed. He looked all out of sorts today after the first set, and Delpo outplayed him after that. But nobody can take away Fed's 15 :)

malakas, don't feed that guy. Atleast Federer won't use injury for a reason of not winning. He's pissed because Dp won the US open before his fav man
 
glad he did not cry. That was a rather gracious speech. He gave credit to del potro and even said he was the best today, or something like that.


see guys, fed can be gracious in defeat.

That was really really bad judgment from Enberg
 
Damn, congrats to Del Potro. I honestly thought Federer was going to handle him like he did at the AO. But I forgot that this man has beaten Nadal whom Federer always had trouble with. Again, congrats Del Po.

Yuppers, that announcer was a RUDE JERK. get THE HOOK and get him off the air.

I want to write to the sponsors and complain about him big time.

Del Po gave his heart to that match and all he wanted to do was say a few words in Spanish.

Shame on American Television !!! I am shamed to be an american at times. :-/

Exactly! out of time? and they're running commercial left and right? c'mon CBS! he absolutely cannot leave the court without his spanish.....good he was allowed to speak his piece. (and the tears! it's so moving)
